BADGER'S WORLD - WEEK 2

We tried to entertain ourselves this off season but nothing beats the start of a fresh GLB season. The kick off tonight saw the good ole boys and some new teams. The new teams will need to pull head from ass and make a better week two showing. Reach out to some vets boys and girls - we're not pricks (not all of us at least).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CASUAL PRO - SURVIVOR
Week 1 - 73 entered and only one eliminated (JBStar23).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NEW TEAMS - HERE'S WHAT THEY LOOKED LIKE
1. Prussian Revolution - beat up on fellow noob Monkey Spankers (59-0)
2. Macon Mo Bacon - took down Motor City 38-3.
3. Grave Diggers Union - Looked good and fought against a tough Moscow team but came up just shy (31-17).
4. Legacy's Casual Pride - Played solid in a loss to Baltimore (30-16).
5. London Fletchers - Were game but the Potables came back with a strong 4th (23-16).
6. San Dimas Saints - Got out muscled by Detroit (41-3).
7. High Seas Marauders - DIALBO took them down rather easily (48-7).
8. DotBall Warriors - Got blanked by the Tets (42-0).
9. Royal Drunken Monkey Spankers - Received the spanking by fellow new team Prussian (59-0).
10. Washington Wildcats - Got torched by the Dragons (80-3).
Ok, most new teams, regroup (get your dots boosted) and see where your team struggled. Get some scrimmages in tomorrow with some tactic changes and see how the team plays and just keep on tweaking. Stay with the program and don't do like a lot of pussies do and quit when things go south. Man up and try something else and ask for some assistance if needed.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSE
RB Oscar Goldman, Moscow Muskeers. HEEEEE'S BACK. Goldman helped carry Moscow's O while carrying the ball 18 times for 133 yards and two rushing TD's in the Musketeers 31-17 win over the Grave Diggers Union.
Goldman gets six from 58 yards out
DEFENSE
DE Maurice Talbot, Baltimore Crimewave. Talbot was a key in the Crimewaves 30-16 win over Legacy's Casual Pride. Talbot reached the QB three times for sacks and also recorded three tackles on the game along with a hurry.
Talbot racks up one of his three sacks
SPECIAL TEAMS
K Clutch 60% Of The Time, Everytime, Twin Peaks. Everytime was a key dot in the 20-17 Peaks win over The Dirty Birds (WTF is up with me picking against Peaks and them winning - Rube owes me some flex) as the dot nailed a 52.5 yard game winning FG with 13 seconds on the clock.
Clutch hits the trey for the W
OOPS - THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMM
1. The performance of a few new teams and teams not being boosted fully - cough cough a few dots left on BM but being worked on (see new teams above).
2. Fareham Hell Hounds - I remember last season Vin saying something to the effect "GG Hell Hounds, you're much better than your record" then Fareham just flattened by the Maulers of Green Bay 73-20.
3. London Fletchers - London not expecting to win much were going for an upset but
couldn't close the deal against Potent giving up 14 in the fourth to lose 23-16.
BRAVO - GOLF CLAP
1. Great games that played out to be great games - HOOD/The Barbarians (won on a last second FG); Chiefs/BM (Markt built up a big lead to only have the Chiefs dominate the second half but BM holding on for a five point win); and the Peaks/Dirty Birds (Peaks breaking the tie under 15 second with a 52.5 FG for the win).
2. Muscle D continuing where they left off allowing only 161 yards against the Saints.
3. WEST topping the east 11-5...LOL east.
WEEK 2 PICKS
EAST
Motor City Mustangs vs. Royal Drunken Monkey Spankers - Both looked out of sorts in the first week but I think the Mustangs get there feet underneath them, toast Royal Drunken, and get the win...23-10.
DotBall Warriors vs. Her Majesty's Dragons - Dragons won by 77 in the opener and this one could be as bad as the Warriors struggled out of the gates. Her Majesty will slay the
Warriors...87-0.
Austin Longhorns vs. Fareham Hell Hounds - I have HH some shit above so let's see if the negative can help motivate them in a must win situation against the Longhorns. Don't expect a route as HH only beat this team by six last season so I'd expect a similar battle this season but Fareham will get the win...23-17.
Legacy's Casual Pride vs. London Fletchers - I've got this one going down as a low scoring defensive battle where a FG kicker will kick the game winner late - probably only one time I pick London on the season...15-13.
Grave Diggers Union vs. DIABLO DOTS - Grave Diggers did not look bad in the opener but are now playing a DOTS team trying to have a statement season. DIABLO will pound the ball and hit some timely passes to keep the Union at bay and gradually pull away making for a lopsided victory...44-10.
Alaskan "War" Raven vs. The Dirty Birds - The Ravens erupted in week one and The Birds dropped a thriller. It will be interesting how the Birds respond against a fellow playoff team. I think the Birds D will be a much tougher test than the Raven's faced in week one and that will be the big difference in the one. The Birds will win but it won't be easy...27-17.
Detroit Muscle vs. Uh Oh! HOOD gone Casual - I'm not sure if HOOD will recall that 56 point loss to the Muscle in week three last season or not but I sure do. HOOD lost a last second game but this one will not be in the last seconds...42-6.
Bier Markt vs. Florida State Seminoles - These two have had some barn burners in recent seasons and I don't think this will be any different. BM coming off a big win and FSS coming in a blowout loss - that won't matter but I do think the GLB Gods favor BM who'll come away with the win...31-24.
---------------------
---------------------
WEST
Prussian Revolution vs. Baltimore Crimewave - I like the match up here as this could be one of those you look back and say "if I'd only one that one." You know when I say it it's going to be a tight one as I think the defenses will dictate to the O's and the Revolution will be holding the picket signs up high at the end of the game...20-17.
Washington Wildcats vs. Manchester United - United looked, well, like a team starring into some headlights in week one but the Wildcats haven't faced rushing QB's like this and it will show as Manchester will roll...38-3.
The Barbarians vs. Macon Mo Bacon - Bacon has busted on the scene by winning that week one game in the old rookie season. With winning comes losing and The Barbarians will give them that first loss. This should be a nice little game as I expect the D's to play "your turn to punt" but The Barbarians win it late...23-20.
Twin Peaks vs. San Dimas Saints - I guess if I pick the Peaks to lose they just refuse to listen to my request. However, this week I have them beating the Saints and Twin won't have to look back after that first half gun goes off. The Saints will want to keep it lower scoring but they won't have the answer for the Peaks D...31-10.
High Seas Marauders vs. French Toast Mafia - I like the Mafia's ground game to give the Marauders fits though out this one. High Seas gave up two 100 yard rushers to DIABLO last week and French Toast is going to run the ball as much. Frech Toast will wear HSM down...41-7.
Green Bay Maulers vs. Moscow Musketeers - This one is interesting as it wouldn't completely shock me if GB were to win but they'll need to score more than 20 to get it and I
don't see that happening as the lost a low scoring 15-6 game last year. Look for Moscow to get a TD or two and make it a little larger of a win this season 20-6.
Potent Potables vs. Charlestown Chiefs - Chiefs start 0-2? Hasn't happened since S31 (come on, you guys love these little inserts) so I don't expect to happen again. However, GLB hasn't really care for what I expect and the Potables played the Chiefs tough in round two last season (lost 12-3) so this could be a low scoring defensive war - what Potent likes and wants. I don't get what I want and neither does Potent...24-13.
Sofia Spiders vs. Full Perky Tets - You know what this one reminds me of? Sofia last season starting off with wins against DAIBLO and the Chiefs then almost look flat the rest of the season. Could this be that magical second good win to start the season or where the magic runs out? Abracadabra Sofia, Tets win...31-27.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BADGER'S TOP FIVE

1. Detroit Muscle - Made short work of oppenent in week one so the defending champs keep the top spot.

2. Bier Markt - Got a big boost to kick the season off with a big win over former west rival Charlestown.

3. DIABLO DOTS - Would have more of a fight in week one if they'd just put a wet paper bag over there own head.

4. Her Majesty's Dragons - Didn't get tested in week one. Hell, they weren't even passed out the test.

5. Moscow Musketeers - Yikes, I dropped down three spots from my original rankings but I guess that's what you get for not whipping ass in week one.

Others nipping at the proverbial heals of the top five
*Twin Peaks - Damn Rube & Co. just like to F with me.
*Full Perky Tets - Someone give dmet a kleenex...thanks.
*Charlestown Chiefs - best no win team in the league.

Hey, I know what you're thinking - why not just do the elite eight since you have eight teams??? Keep thinking dipshits.

Thought this was funny as I was looking through the stats:

Manchester United offensive tackle Pablo Branch (RT) had 58 pancakes last season.

Game 1: 42

In a 38-0 loss no less.

at GLB.
