The competition only got shifted. The elite leagues are fairly competitive, altho there are still plenty of 50+ losses (and really, that might look better than 255-0, but the loser really was not going to win that one regardless). However, the Normal leagues are complete crap and have all the non-competitive games that used to be distributed amongst all the leagues.

The old way had 6 leagues with 40% competitive games. The new way has 2 leagues with 80% competitive games and 3 leagues with 20% competitive games. Same competitiveness overall, just shifted around to appear more competitive to some. I did a tracking of alot of minor leagues last season, so while those are rounded numbers, they are not made up.

And I don't. It's gotten worse. We didn't have tons of CPU's and 255-0 scores for a while. Since about season 9-10 the competitiveness of this game has gone completely done hill. AA, AAA and Pro leagues used to be competitive and you didn't have Bort begging teams to move up. That is a constant in this game now and has been for 3-4 seasons.

You had to follow a budget before as well, there was just no ceiling on the salaries,

If you did not follow a budget before, you could not build your stadium,

Again, nothing has changed, time wise, they just swapped what you spend it on.
