I'd love to see some film of how the sim treats these two packages and don't have time to schedule a scrimmage before the game I'd like to use them in.

I've been unimpressed with Cover 2, WR's seem to catch everything and the Safeties just come over to clean up the pile 90% of the time. Cover 3 was just like double-coverage on the outside WR's with the 2nd CB on medium distance. I'd like to see how Cover1 and Cover0 are treated by the sim. I'm gonna guess that they're probably more effective as you'd have at least one WR double-covered.

Isn't that the point?

Coverage shells are also not effected by Coverage distances.

Cover 1 has a strong favor vs. receiving TEs as you have your SS on the TE. Cover 0 is very goo dif you can effectively put it to work.

So if the SS is covering the TE does that mean that it's safe to blitz with my LOLB?

Yes, yes it is. (assuming you are not in a 3 Wide formation)

you have to have solid cb's to run the cover 1 or 0 effectively. and it's better suited to run teams.

Cover 0 you can end up with a triple covered TE if you're not careful with the underneath coverage.

I prefer cover 1 and cover 3...it gives you needed pass coverage while not giving up a ton of space on the ground.

Cover 3 =death of teams vs. inside running. It stretches your LBs our by covering man to the CBs which is a good thing vs. medium passes and outside running but short passing would kill Cover 3 bases and so would smashmouth games.

we run cover 1 with varying success. With the FS set to long coverage you get a real honest to goodness safety that lets you get a little more aggressive on INT's underneath if you want. Set to Medium coverage distance, he'll help clog the middle zone breaking up many passes to WR's slanting in or jumping in on TE routes.

Set to short.......well that doesnt work out so well. Just like Cover 0 except with an extra guy in the box.

A mixture of these versus different situations = best situation

My advice is to utilize all coverages for different WR's sets/downs/yards to go.

Thats my tip for the night...

Can someone post links to what these coverages look like in GLB?

We basically run cover 1 on 3rd and shorts, very good success rate

Cover 1 is very good with a strongside shift and the LOLB blitzing. The SS will be up in the box and take the TE. I use it with nickel in the 3 WR sets too. I have never tried cover 3, that seemed like it would give alot of space.

Interestingly to update my own thread, I've been running Cover 1 with a strongside shift to shut down the running game in some situations and it's been very good. Cover 3 I wouldn't use at all. Cover 0 works well, but it's very risky.
