Why does my LOLB line up on the opposite side of the field to cover wr3?
Also, why doesnt LOLB stay and cover TE while SS moves up to play man on WR3?
Yes I know 4-3 man against a singleback is trying to get burned but the defense was put in to stop the play that happened here.

What I wanted to happen was SS covers WR3 man up, LOLB covers TE and ROLB is free to attack the play. Did I input it wrong or is this the sim putting my players in the wrong place???

I know I don't ever want LOLB covering wr3, but I'm not scared of ROLB (rosie is fast as shit) on wr3.

It has more to do with you not appreciating what the sim will do and less to do with the sim "putting players in the wrong place," so far as I'm concerned.

Set the 4-3 to shift strong side, you'll get a safety on the slot then.

Can I at least get an answer as to why LOLB goes to the other side of the field to Cover wr3?

*boggle*

Uh, the LOLB should never switch sides in a 4-3 defense. So i think bug's question is a valid one?

I don't think that's not not "appreciating" what the sim will do, that's asking a fairly basic football question.

I think the sim is correct because it looks like it is a 46 defense. In this defense the SLB (the LB that normally lines up on the TE side) lines up right next to the WLB (ROLB in this instance).

It's not that I mind a LB covering wr3, but the fact that I didn't make the decision in either case is the problem I'm facing.

I understand the 46, but this game doesn't offer the 46 so it shouldn't line up in it. Bort please take a look.

(1.) You should have your base defense compensating for TWO WR's...that is from 1st down to 4th down you should have "Number of WR's in set between [2] and [2]. This base defense should reflect what you Basic Defensive Tactics

(2.) Add an input..."3 WR's". Choose the downs...from 1st to 4th. You should then have "Number of WR's in set between [3] and [3]. You then choose what NICKEL defense you want run in this case (4-2-5 or 3-3-5). If you want a SS to cover WR 3 you should put a SS in the depth chart at CB 3.

(3.) Add an additional input..."4-5 Receivers". Choose the downs...from 1st to 4th. "Number of WR's in set between [4] and [5]. Choose the DIME defense you want to run (4-1-6 or 3-2-6).

I think this helps....

I'm learning on the fly myself....
