i wish it had been simpler. lets face it, the WL was the playground for very few owners, and once you have a successful strategy, there's no reason not to use that to get multiple teams to the WL which we all know is what happened, which is why i always hated the concept of WL over a World tournament. I wish bort had sold 6 champion league teams to highest bidders, no one allowed to own or co-own more than 1 team. these would be permanent CL teams with an additional seasonal fee. If you needed to drop out for a season, your team would be "suspended" and when ready, rejoin. the other 6 slots would be open to pro champs, bottom 2 dropping down each season. lets face it, an independent team that makes it in usually just gets whomped and demoted. even if they survive, with no farm team, they cant sustain that level of play with free agents for long. if you own a CL team, and win pro, you cannot promote to CL. This assures 12 CL owners every season. permanent owners risk their ownership if they fail to field full teams, or show lack of effort
