Royals fan. Although I follow the Cards too. In a way, Royals and Pittsburgh are very alike. They need to be smarter in order to be a successful 'small market' franchise. No way either team will ever outspend the Dodgers or Yankees or others of their ilk... so those teams MUST do much better in trades, signing, farm system, and payroll management.

This is a good year!! Not for the Cards BUT the Yankees and Red Sox are fighting it out to finish LAST in the A.L.E and both MAY miss the playoffs!!!

Baltimore not only featured the FOUR 20 game winners, but had Frank and Brooks Robinson, along with Boog Powell, Paul Blair, Mark Belanger, Henricks/Etchebarren, Don Buford, Davey Johnson, and others.

Truly one of the greatest triumphs by an underdog in World Series history!
