That's an interesting possiblity. But I'm wondering if there's something "simpler" going on...

GLB might be using the international soccer model** where away-goals are worth more than home goals. In JanPony's scenario, the combined head-to-head scores totaled 17-17, but Barrio scored 7 at Test while Test was shutout at Barrio.

Similarly, look at Tulsa vs Gurupies in the EPL West. Tulsa got the 3rd seed over Gurupies. Each had 9-7 records, and each won their head-to-head at home. Despite Tulsa being outscored in those h2h games, and despite Tulsa ALLOWING MORE total points over the course of the season, they still got the higher seed. But Tulsa scored 23 at Gurupies while giving up only 14 at home to them.

** Note that in real life, Americans always display their scores/matchups with the visiting team on top (or to the left) of the home team, whereas GLB does the opposite -- the international way.

I may be confused by your theory as I am not exactly a soccer guy. If I am reading it the way I think I am , than in Casual Pro, Last of the Mohicans would be the higher seed over Shoreline

Combined Head to Head ; Mohicans 33-30
Away points allowed : Mohicans 20, Shoreline, 30
Away Points Scored : Mohicans 30, Shoreline 20

Mohicans win all three in that scenario, so not sure that theory.formula is right.

one of Shoreline's losses was a blowout

I think I am onto something with this blowout adjusted

but tiebreakers have to take into acct more than just the number 1 seed. take this this conf for example: http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/league.pl?league_id=13&conference_id=26. i have no idea how how this didnt end up as cincy, acme, NT, madison. what jumps out immediately is that both madison and acme won the 2nd h2h. i wonder if the 1st h2h game is not considered at all? this wouldnt surprise me at all if bort had a simple h2h switch that can only track the most recent game.

I believe Guppy is correct - it only counts the second head to head game. Does anyone see an example where that is not the case?

I have been speaking with support too, and it seems to be an issue and should have been fixed now. The thing now is the Playoff picture. We are still facing seed #3 as seed #2 normally would do.

to be fair, the 3 and 4 seeds are both CPU teams

Correct. I am just saying that the "fix" isn't all fixed yet.

Yes, we're in agreement. Mohicans outscored Shoreline h2h so they "should" be higher seed. The soccer theory was posed to try to answer what happens when the combined h2h points are tied.

Yes; using the Mohicans example above, they lost to Shoreline in the 2nd h2h game but are the higher seed.

However, in that same conference, let's look at Hood and Diablo who also tied for #2 with Diablo getting higher seed (even though, as I write this on Saturday morning, the standings page shows Hood as #2)...http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/league.pl?league_id=24&conference_id=48

Hood outscored Diablo h2h, and even scored more points on the road than Diablo, yet Diablo still got higher seed? That wrecks those theories....
I give up.
Perhaps Bort just flips a proverbial coin.

Maybe they are fixing these? When I posted this, the day after the regular season ended, and after "rollover", Shoreline was listed at #3 and Mohicans @ #5. Now they have been switched.

Well partially switched. Mohicans are now the #4 seed, and have been inserted into the playoffs against the #1 seed., but they now have a double header
http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/league.pl?league_id=24
If you click on week 18, they still are scheduled for their consolation game vs the 5 of the other conference, and also have a playoff game against Final Boss. Also note that Shoreline isn't on the schedule at all?

Ha! Good catch, sunder B...And look at Shoreline's home page -- they're also playing Final Boss on 4/3, lol!!

Diablo is still shown as #3 on League Standings, but are #2 on PO bracket page.

Have you cleared cache? It could be displaying the older data even though Bort fixed.

That was just the cache, as it seems right now, Thanks!

I cleared cache but Shoreline's home page still says (to me) they're the #4 seed playing Final Boss, and the Mohicans' page says they're also #4, playing Final Boss.

And the League Standings page still shows Hood #2, Diablo #3 even tho the game matchup on that same page shows Diablo as the home team.
