CCIA dominates pre-season!

CCIA finished this part of the season undefeated and without allowing a single point scored against them. With the four pre-season games and the first regular season game CCIA completed a run against 5 of the Canadian teams, defeating all of them easily, and shutting all of them out.

Preseason game 1 CCIA defeated O<>D ParadiSe 64-0.
Preseason game 2 CCIA defeated LTS v2.0 26-0. This is one of the Dotball Syndicate teams, an alliance that boasts 4 WL teams.
Preseason game 3 CCIA defeated Norfolk Nighthawks 30-0. They were Conference Champions in Regional Pro Competitive last season
Preseason game 4 CCIA defeated Halifax Harpoons-UAA Member 117-0.
Regular season game 1 CCIA defeated Fuzzy Merkins 99-0.

So after defeating a third of the Canadian teams CCIA was left with the overwhelming question?
WHY THE F**K AREN'T WE IN CANADA WHERE WE COULD MAKE WL STANDING ON OUR HEAD?

But never fear gentle reader! Although USA is a far, far tougher Conference than Canada, CCIA will overcome. Now join hands and sing as one:

"We shall overcome some day!
Oh deep in my heart
I do believe"
(high tempo music)
"I believe
I believe
I believe
I believe that we will win
I believe that we will win"

CCIA regular season - a tough road through a great conference.

The regular season began with 2 easy wins:

99-0 over Fuzzy Merkins
96-0 over Dayton Raiders

But game 3 loomed with a different quality of opponent, the mighty Cincinnati Shockers, a Dotball Syndicate team, 2x World League Conference Champions in seasons 25 and 22, 2x GLB Pro Tournament Champions in seasons 29 and 22, 3x USA Pro League Champions (seasons 28, 21 and 10) and 4x USA Pro League Conference Champions (adding season 14 to the prior ones). Cincinnati demoted from WL in season 36 and had just not quite gotten back in the 5 seasons since then, but remained an impressive and powerful team with a great history. They were 12-4 in USA Pro the prior season, losing the regular season games all by less than a TD, but struggling in the playoffs. Could CCIA pull off the win? CCIA led after the 1st quarter, and after the 2nd and 3rd quarters, but in the end the Shockers found a way to win.

12-20 loss to Cincinnati Shockers

After struggling in game 3, game 4 seemed even more difficult. The Buffalo Knights don't have the great history of the Shockers, but whereas the Shockers seem to be a team in a slight decline from their days of greatness, the Knights have every indication of being a team on the way up. Like the Shockers they were 12-4 in USA Pro last season, but then met the Shockers in the playoff first round, winning by a very large margin (51-14) and then losing the next round of the playoffs, that would have sent them to the World League if they won, by 7 points.

13-9 win over Buffalo Knights!! And the potential for a great season was right back on!

Then 2 more easy wins:

255-0 (476-0) over The Midnight Rockers ™
62-7 over Boston Brawlers

Game 7 saw CCIA match up with the San Diego Supa Chargers, who were 9-7 in USA Pro last season including being one of the four teams to beat the Cincinnati Shockers, and then in the playoffs they lost an impressively closer than expected first round match-up by 9 points to a team that proceeded on to World League. The Supa Chargers may not be widely regarded as the best USA Pro team, but they are very dangerous and capable of beating even the best teams.

24-7 win over the San Diego Supa Chargers and the CCIA train keeps on rolling!

Game 8 found CCIA playing another team with some similarities to the one they just played, but better. The College Station Aggies are the kind of team very casual observers might not notice at first, but in reality they are very impressive. With an 11-5 record last season, including a sound defeat of the Buffalo Knights, then a 7-point loss in the first round to a team that went on to World League, and a 6-1 record so far this season (the same record as CCIA), the Aggies are tough. Couple that recent success with the fact that the Aggies have been in USA Pro for the past 22 seasons including this one, since S21, one recognizes they are a very experienced and capable team. The game was one of the ones where the ball never seemed to bounce CCIAs way. The Aggies were not consistently effective but they had a handful of big plays and managed to convert those to 4 TDs. Meanwhile CCIA had every bad piece of luck. Despite CCIA being more consistent and having a significant time of possession advantage the game ended up with the most lopsided score against CCIA so far in USA Pro this season.

6-28 loss to the College Station Aggies.

Midseason found CCIA with a 6-2 record, in 5th place in the Conference.

Game 9 was another easy win:

x - x over Merc's Mercenaries

CCIA uses GLB tourney to test strength against WL

CCIA drew the World League team "Ukraine is Game to You?!" right away in the GLB tournament. A couple of chinks in CCIAs armor were exposed but nothing that could not be corrected. Overall, the score looked bad but since CCIA was able to turn this game into a chance to improve even more, it just made CCIA more dangerous and capable.

Final: 6-37 loss

Yea I thought all the weaknesses in Dallas's defense would have given Fake Chow a good chance against them. Heck, even LOL beat Dallas. So I was surprised to see Chow lose. But holy cow! Grand Hustle just owned Chow!

We lost to a WL team and I thought the score was lopsided and disappointing but after seeing Grand Hustle run up the score against Chow I don't feel so bad!

Funny that you say even LOL when we've been playing far superior to your team.

You lost to a most likely soon to be demoted WL team, Grand Hustle was all on me and LOL just squished Rush Hour in the tourney. Chow still has 15 dots to be boosted so no worries on my side...
