...I remember that the teams that were the likes of my RR were fighting hard to just make the cut and that was with a partially boosted team and hrs of game planning for each game ...now who game plans during regular season?!? ...you can just go strong with preconceived AIs and just cruise like jkid ...wouldn't have gotten away with that back in PWG's early seasons, coords would have found yas out back then coz that was how engaged they were with it

I came into Gold in S13, so ya, I missed S11-S12. But I do remember that you did need to scout for all but the easiest games. That's just how the sim was back then and everyone did it.

People got lazy over the seasons to where recently, they were on auto-pilot until the playoffs and then only did light scouting for those. But things are changing. Some of the better newer teams seem to know the older teams are not scouting, so they are and are winning, which is forcing the better teams to scout at least a little against the better teams. I noticed this change most in S40 as I was forced to do some light scouting for a good 4-6 games and those were tough games. Teams have always scouted in the playoffs, but there seems to be a return to scouting for regular season games. Between that and the high quality of teams in PWG in general, S40 and likely S41 will be very tough seasons, especially in the West.

I was in Gold since inception save maybe one season where I only assisted, I missed a few seasons here and there but I can say with confidence that the West was one of the most competitive conferences of all time.

I see it being similarly challenging this season.

Do I think that means people are spending as much effort as they used to? No.

But its fun to watch.

meh

Back in the early days of GLB you busted your ass just to make the playoffs in most leagues. Now people act like it's a big deal if that happens in one league. Sad to see the game in this state.

I played in rookie leagues several times back then and nobody tried by my standards at all.

Either they didn't know how to scout or simply didn't...

So I believe you are delusional or likewise incapable of actually spending the effort because you wouldn't know how.

Two things...

Your sign-up date is March 2012.

Rookie leagues didn't exist "back then".

You're just all kinds of full of shit.

I agree with that in the Silver leagues, but once to PWG, it's gotten much harder in recent seasons.

No, I understand you're a multi but you lose credibility when you talk about "rookie leagues in the beginning". PW is older than rookie, noob.

About the time andersonba started his write-ups PWG seemed to come back to life. PWG was previously very stagnant and inbred. I left to underground and regular leagues.

Anderson is awesome. I think we can all agree on that.
