Not really pissed, more of "well there goes the season"

You guys looked real good today

I can't see this at all. We won't find another back like Richardson in the draft, a good back yes; not that e should have drafted him in the first place. The colts will end up giving us a 23 or 25 pick at best so we have to bank on a lucky draft pick choice. If the plan was to tank this season and draft Johnny football (not that I like that plan) I could kind of see the choice. I just don't see losing that high quality of a HB for one end of the first round pick

They reported today that the didn't even shop the trade and another gm stated they would have offered their 1st round and a couple mid round picks for Trent. I guess the worst of it is just knowing this season is a waste now and seeing us win today just makes me think how our pick value is going down.

Don't get me wrong I thought Trent was a bad choice in the draft and when he did as well as he did, I got excited to see maybe we can turn things around on e we pick up a good receiver.

The so called rumors that other teams were interested in offering more are more than likely coming out of Indy after they overpaid for a running back. It is very unlikely that anyone would have offered more.

Anyway, the Browns might not find a running back that is as good, but a running back is not what we need to turn the franchise around. The extra pick could certainly help when going after the quarterback of the future. I don't think that is Johnny Football though. At this stage I think guys like Bridgewater, Hundley and Mariota are more likely. You have to remember that the Browns probably won't draft 10 rookies next season, but package some of the picks.

Very curious to why you are saying Richardson "did as well as he did"? I for one had much higher expectations than a pedestrian 3.5 YPC average after watching every run he had at Bama. I still think he can have a very good career as a running back in the NFL, but there is no way to call him a success for the Browns.

Top 5 HB in Browns History...

1. Jim Brown [Rookie season 4.7 avg / Career 5.2]
2. Leroy Kelly [Rookie season 3.8 avg / Career 4.2]
3. Mike Pruitt [Rookie season 2.7 avg / Career 3.2]
4. Greg Pruitt [Rookie season 6.0 avg / Career 4.7]
5. Kevin Mack [Rookie season 5.0 avg / Career 4.0]

Trent Richardson [Rookie season 3.6 avg / Career 3.5]

Not saying he'll be as good as those backs; just saying his numbers aren't that crazy off from those guys. Don't get me wrong Peyton Hillis had better numbers, he was a little bitch, but had better numbers. So did Montario Hardesty and that's why I wasn't happy about the draft choice for Richardson, I just don't get why we traded a good HB for nothing.

tbf it wasnt for nothing - you got back a 1st. ok it likely isnt as high as you drafter trent but its still a 1st rounder - in a draft likely loaded with good QBs.

Understood.
I was shocked the Giants were beaten down like that. Then again, they did the same to the Panthers last year.

The Panthers must have heard my rant at the local Mexican Restaurant after a Texas Jumbo Margarita.
I was so disgusted after the Bills loss, I told my wife I'm not watching another game till they win. I'm going to change my personalized license plate to not say anything Panthers. I'm never wearing my Cam jersey again, etc. I even picked against them in my work's pickem league. Then they won like that. They do it to me everything. Just when I'm ready to give up on them, they show up.
Hopefully it is a sign of things to come.

Early NFL thoughts...

1. Love the fact that the media darling conference - NFC East - sucks hind tit and all the talking heads have to say is "who will turn it around?" None of them... Dallas or Philly will division with 8 - 8 record and early playoff bounce.

2. Miami for real? If they can win this week, then maybe...

3. I picked up Hoyer in my fantasy league and the only solace for a long time Browns (and Lions) fan is that the hated Steelers are actually worse than us! Three home games in a row - all winnable - hmmm, do I smell a player rally?

4. Seattle, Chicago, Denver and Kansas City look like the teams to beat - all have superior defense and special teams, good run game and just enough weapons to hurt you offensively. New England, Houston, Atlanta and New Orleans need to step up on defense in order to be serious contenders.

5. San Diego and Green Bay are snake bitten - someone paid a shaman to curse their teams...

6. Both Super Bowl teams from last season are having a major hangover - I'm thinking that neither will even make playoffs.

7. Yeah, it's a homer pick, but IF the Lions can win the next two games (Chicago and Green Bay), the momentum might kick start their heart ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQMBz6HvSoM TURN IT UP!!!

A first round pick in the NFL draft is as far as you can get from nothing! It is one of the absolute most valuable assets you can acquire in a trade.

I took Oakland over Washington this week, but still not sure if Pryor is going to keep playing as good as he is and is RGIII really going to keep slumping

Not a bad pick. The Redskins are spiraling and traveling to Hotel California. The Raiders will need some of that Black and Silver Mojo to win it, meaning the ghost of Bo Jackson to come back and help their run game.

Then again, RGKnee could go off on them.

Panthers are on a bye. The best week of the season after a win. lol

I think in the long run, if the Browns use that pick correctly, Cleveland will call it a wash.
Chudzinski doesn't like a traditional running game. He wasted the Panthers HBs last year. He does some cool stuff but he has to have the right people.

QB doesn't spend enough time standing up to win many games, tbh.
