Good game E-City.
Very happy with our game plan and execution. So no bad feelings. We did what we could. We had a team that easily would have made the playoffs in the WL and could have won it all, but that is not enough when you play the best 8th seed that GLB has ever seen in a pro league.

Great game Cav - we just got the last posession and milked down the clock enough before kicking the FG. Wish we could have avoid this matchup.

Great Game Alpine, really feel sorry for you guys that you have to stay in NatPro for another season. Regular seasn game you got the INTs, this time around we got the one that in the end probably made the difference.
Season certainly did not go as we expected or planned, this was not the matchup we were looking for until after promotions were already decided.

Wow, it has been coming up all season that Alpine would probably meet E-City and the 1 and 8 seeds all season.
However, to see it happen. Wow.
The next problem is that I really think that Motor City is just a rung below WL quality and E-City/Alpine are those 8-9 seed WL quality teams, so it would take one heck of a game to get the next one.

To be honest seeing what Alpine did last season in WL when they were underaged I'd put them quite a bit higher than a 8-9 seed, which makes it all the more of a shame that they are out of the running already. We got lucky today, plain and simple. Maybe Bort was making up for us losing three OT games to cost us the playoff spot in WL last season.
Anyway, still need to win one more to get back, should be a good one.

Some pretty good teams in the top 7 for both sides up there. I wouldn't say there is absolutely no way.

I would say that is all true. I was more going off Alpine recent history in WL - hovering around the 8-8 mark and working for the last seed. However, albeit against Nat Pro teams and some WL team scrims available for public scouting it is probably true that Alpine has gotten a bit stronger.
I guess the only consolation now is that it will make Alpine even more determined to get back and get to beat the snot out of Pro teams for one more season.
