A player's effective level is a measure of the build's total SP value compared to players at the same position.

More or less, you improve a player's effective level by building efficiently. Player's who maximize the benefits of training and automatic level gains will have no problem attaining a positive effective versus actual level difference.

I'll use your QB as an example. To really hone in the value of your automatic level gains, you should have continued raising throwing to around 81 or 83 (where it costs 7 or 8 for a 1 point increase). Automatic level gains are highest at lower levels, so it's important to maximize your "primary" attribute at a young age.

Beyond not taking throwing high enough, you've invested a lot of SPs into strength already, which for your archetype is a minor attribute. This means it receives less of an automatic level gain than a major would (majors are noted with a gold star on your skill point page). An efficient builder will generally progress through his top 2 or 3 majors before even looking at a minor attribute.

Lastly, SAs will never grow or anything like an attribute would. Spending SPs on SAs is generally done at very late ages by efficient builders (think level 65+).

You have to think of player building rather mathematically instead of just applying SPs where feels "best" at a specific juncture. With a limited amount of SPs given to you for your dot's lifetime, you have to make best use of them. What that means is that you spend them early to get your primary attribute high so that it can grow naturally as the dots level to super high levels. This saves you from otherwise having to burn tons of SPs to get to similar marks. And of course you obviously move to your second most important attribute, and then the third, and so forth.

So, for the future, I would do the following to salvage the build.

1. Immediately raise throwing to ~81 (keep spending until it costs 7 SPs to raise it 1). After throwing has reached those marks, start on vision, taking it to the same mark.
2. Make sure you are multi-training. If you have not unlocked 3 attributes for multi-training, do so. I would highly recommend multi-training throwing, vision, confidence, and agility (I would recommend strength however 42 is a pretty inefficient mark to train at).
3. Unlock basic training enhancements for the attributes you are multi-training.
4. Keep multi-training those four attributes. This is going to be a long-term thing, you really want to work up those attributes. Once throwing has reached 100 natural (the value without EQ factored in), switch off of it. You will only get 1% per train on it, otherwise. Progress to strength (assuming you've capped it by then).

For this, enhance to 30% or 50%. I believe it would be better to go to 30%. Don't go 40% because it's not really a significant bonus from 30%. 10% and 20% are really useless considering you can enhance to 30% with the BT's you get from creating a player and training him.

However, when you have multi-training unlocked it would be okay to upgrade your third/tertiary attribute to 20% if you don't have the BT's to get to 30% right away. Make sure you get to 30% though. Just elaborating on what IRWT said.

5 star is overkill, even on a primary, imo.

There's a few build specializations that you can justify using it, though (think uber speed dots).

Yeah, don't enhance to 50%.

As a rider of the 5-star pony for many seasons, I now do only 3 stars. Not because 5 stars doesn't work... it does. But the amount of BT's you spend to bump TE (training enhancements) up to 5 stars just isn't worth the cost. Those BT's will come in handy later if you shop for AEQ. Now... if you're rich and eye-hole deep in flex, just buy your AEQ and go 5 star crazy. (IMHO.)

Why did you post another thread about this ? They pretty much answered your question there! For ex. This dot from your team has done his build the wrong way and it will allmost be impossible for him to get his efective lvl above his own lvl:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=4308166

Why because he didnt take advantage of his alg (automatic lvl gains) he should have concentrated on one attribute at a time not balance it!

Your team is probably full of those and your teams dots lvls are pretty different!

I wanna correct myself for a mistake of confusion on my part. You CANNOT buy AEQ with Flex. You CAN build your AEQ with BT's rather than shop for it in the lottery. I confused AEQ with CEQ, which you DO purchase with flex after reaching level 8. Sorry for my gaff.
