I mean holy god, how many times have the Hedgehogs promoted by winning their conference or USAPL altogether and instantly demoted the next season? Holy shit.

Pro contraction + Hemispheres please.

1 WL
2 Hemispheres
4 Pro Leagues

This meets the reality of the level of competition better than 1 WL and 4 Pro leagues.

What about RToF (RoF)? Hell, they were the 9th place team this past season. Those teams are not getting any better (improving their chances at sticking in WL) wasting a season in an uncompetitive Nat Pro on autopilot.

Could just name WL

GLB Pro

Then name the 4 remaining National Pro Leagues something like AAA to throw back to the olden days.

GLB PRO (WL)
AAA (4 National Pro Leagues)
AA (Regional Pro Leagues)
A (Newly created 240 day cap leagues if everyone cries enough to get a new age based league)
Semi-Pro (Name unchanged)

I think the point being missed here is that the 3rd and 4th place teams will still be as good as the current "trophy winners" since if there were still 8 leagues (vice the new 4) they would have won a league, just a weaker league.

It could also easily be argued that the 3rd or 4th place team in the new much tougher National Pro leagues would be as good, maybe better, than the 17-32 placed teams in WL.

How will this effect an already shrinking number of coordinators in the game? If they actually have to put effort into a National Pro regular season from now on (hypothetically) how will that make the game more attractive to them?

To be honest, and I know I'm in the minority here, but I preferred the way it used to be with no World League and the Pro-AAA-AA-A system where you had to actually win a trophy to promote. And I've always been of the opinion that the World League should be a tournament similar to the Champions League in Soccer, not it's own individual league.

This idea is too sound to be adopted by GLB, but we have a full season to make them see the light.

A full season is just not enough.. it usually takes 10-15 seasons for them to see the light.

Well, a big thing is that you only have to win 2 games now to make playoffs in Pro to jump to WL. I think you'll see even more unprepared teams promoting to WL. Hard to work around it other than play in games or something.

But assuming that the Pro leagues are twice as hard (they are being cut in half), wouldn't winning two playoff games be a pretty big deal?

Also, this better mean that top 24 stay in the WL and you promote only 8.

Absolutely not, this would kill the game completely - promoting to the wl is what drives almost all of the competitive pro teams, if you didn't promote the top 16 then world league teams wouldn't even have a do or die additude to make the playoffs.
