It pretty much is, we've beaten everyone except those damned teams. I'm in a rut, my game planning has gone to crap...frustration level is pretty high.

As do we all...to be honest, it could be MMW, it could be RR, or BOLN, or SCC...our toughest games have been against these 4 teams, and up to this point, you have to beat them in a playoff setting to win gold.

I agree, m8.

I am grateful for tough games as well as medium tough games.

Both keep me on my toes and stretch my abilities.

Sometimes the difference between winning and losing is a bad coaching decision.
That is tough to swallow. I've been there.

Sometimes it's a roll of the dice thing.

Sometimes it's an adjustment to Bort thing.

Sometimes some of your individual players are just plain outclassed (better built).

Sometimes its a synergistic thing (tactics of both teams & builds collide giving you an odd advantage).

Quite often you are humbled in victory as well as defeat (especially if you think you should have lost).

A season of playing cpu teams and winning gold would be nothing.

I enjoyed the very tough season 29 playoffs. For all I know, it may never be again.

Season 30 might signal the emergence of a new champion that none of us anticipate.

That enjoyment is due to my team mates and my co-owner, walleyepro.

But more than that. it is the quirky and sometimes exasperating changes by BORT

as well as the wily creative teams that we play.....YOU!

On game day....

You wonder...is there something else to change? my player's tactics? my team tactics?

You shake off the panic and the urge to undo all your careful thoughts. You wait.

The game is a hour away. Usually too late to change as BORT locks you out.

Ah, relief.....the die is cast.....nothing more to do but pray that you haven't betrayed your team with foolishness.

The clock ticks down to 00:00.....there are no results....you gulp each time you refresh the screen.

It says - 7:00 and you wonder if that foretells your loss by 3 points or your victory.

....a 1000 things cross your mind....

The Game Verdict Is In!

You have escaped with a 12-9 victory over the Russian Revolution.

You are relieved, grateful and then boldly wondering why it was so close.

We are an odd bunch.

Braggadocios and Fearful never arriving at an equilibrium.

Victory has many parents while a Loss is an orphan.

I know the truth.

I can no more blame myself for every loss than I can take credit for every victory.

Often my joy is that I did not "screw the pooch".

The phrase screw the pooch, meaning to mess up, commit a grievous
error, was made famous in Tom Wolfe's book The Right Stuff.

Winning is better than losing.

I prefer a playoff like season 29.

I am an unpublished writer who enjoyed creative writing in college.

I am writing a novel. It is called MADAGASCAR.

It is the story of my life.

I will hopefully complete it in 2013 before my birthday in May.

Writing is a gift from God.
I never worked hard and earned it.
My wife is always having me write
and produce greeting cards for her
rather than buy them. My wife has
no problem with using that gift.

Of course, I'm not so great in math.
