They activate at the same time:

D when defending the last 20 yards of field, O when attacking those same 20 yards.

Only works when you have the ball inside your opponents 20 or when they have the ball inside your 20.

Also only fires when the LOS is inside the 20.

^^^Really what puts it lower on the totem pole for most positions.

here is a more interesting question: did Bort code it so that it works in the EZ too .. or does it stop at the GL ?

If the LOS was within the 20 when the play started, it is active or not active DURING THE WHOLE PLAY.

So if your QB throws an INT to a CB with RZF who is sitting in the Endzone, and who started the play with RZF active, it remains active even after he has left the red zone.

The same as if the QB started the play with the LOS on the 19 and the ball was snapped back to him... he started outside the Red Zone, and he dropped back even further. RZF can activate even though he never crosses into the red zone himself even once.
