Hey guys. Hoping for a little advice here. My player is under contract for season 28 but I was hoping to make the jump to a contending WL team in season 29. I'm not sure what to do with my SP's at this point. I was going to pump strength to 60, but I'm not sure that's the best option. If I didn't pump strength, then I suppose I would try to get my SA's up.

1) Does this player have a shot at a solid WL team?
2) What should I do now to round out his build?

Thanks

- Rack

Pretty much this. Another AEQ wont hurt.

You also need to reset the following VAs: Showboat, Track Star and Red Zone Freak (probably in that order too).

This thread is a good example of why EL only means so much. He has a great EL, but you sacrificed the ability to pick up more AEQ which would help more than slightly higher primary attributes. You really need to try and get an MT% piece along with higher confidence, strength, and SAs. Will you have the BTs to do that?

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1922630 Here is a very similar build on my recently retired corner, the big diff though is I have a lot more % and SAs (not enough MT% on mine but non the less more) . Never really got much interest from WL teams, and the builds now would mean its even harder to do so. I hope u have a TON of BTs and/or SPs saved up or else id have to say PRO is probably where u will have to settle on srry to say.

Thanks for the responses.

I can definitely cap confidence instead of getting to the 3rd cap in strength. Would that be preferable? I always thought that quantifying the benefit of confidence in a CB was questionable at best, so I didn't think it was really worth it. Would it be better to 2nd cap confidence or 3rd cap strength (assuming I can only do 1)?

As far as my VA's, Kwankwan recommended that I get rid of Showboat, Track Star and Red Zone Freak. Okay. I'm up for that. What would be recommended? I would guess Ball Hawk, Sure Tackler and ?????

I doubt I'll be able to swap out for a MT%. I actually have a non-equipped avoid fake % piece that I'm trying to upgrade so I can equip. I'll be able to upgrade and equip it before the start of next season without losing any speed points.

I realize that I don't have a 4th piece of AEQ or too many SA's at this point because I quad-trained pretty much my entire career. I am now light training to get more BT's for 3 full sets of AEQ (which I should have at the start of season 28). I have 25 SP's banked right now which I can pretty much use to 2nd cap confidence or 3rd cap strength.

3 AEQ should be fine. You'll be better off with 48 confidence and 68 strength than 61/61. Instead, consider going 61 str/48 con and using the saved SPs for SAs.

Those 25 SPs should come in handy. Tbh, confidence and strength are both low. I'd look to up confidence, since 50 strength CBs can still work (although 60+ strength is preferred).

I'd probably light train confidence and maybe get it to 40 with SPs, depending on how many you have left. You can always add some HoaC... which isn't ideal, but it's much better than the otherwise 30ish conf.

So this is probably what I'd do on day 12ish:
Conf 40 - 10 SPs
Strength 60 - 16 SPs
Swat Ball 8 - 18 SPs

That way you might still have 5-10 SPs left to add some more SAs / Conf.

Since you won't be getting MT%, you should probably take David vs. Goliath + Sure Tackler. Do not get Ball Hawk unless you are playing for catch's zone D in the WL.
Be sure to get 1 OTK too.

If you add AF%, Scuba could play in the WL.. probably for a promoting team, unless there is a shortage of FA CBs.

1400+ SP with 4 aeq will probably be the WL standard in s29.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Helps a lot. I've got a plan now so that's exciting. And I like the 1 in OTK statement. That VA has been blacked out for me since i don't have 40 confidence, but adding 1 in OTK seems like solid advice.

I would welcome anymore advice from anyone that backs anything that has previously been said or if they have some contrarian advice that hasn't been stated yet.

Thanks again.

Thanks!

Now that Kwankwan saw this thread, maybe he would be willing to save a roster spot for Scuba Steve on his WL team for season 29?
