7 Wonders is awesome. Best part of it is that you can play with 7 and it doesn't slow it down any since turns are simultaneous. Quick in and quick out, but not as vacuous as a filler game. Give me Alexandria or Olympia side B all day long, thank you. And the Leaders expansion adds a lot.

GoT is one I haven't played since it is outside the usual realm of game partners, but I've heard it is pretty high up on the list of conquest-type games, which impresses me since it has variable player powers. Usually get imbalance out of that kind of set-up, but I've heard no complaints about that part, so if I get a gaming group that is into conquest games, it is first on my pick-up list.

My suggestion: Discworld - Ankh-Morpork. Fun area control game with a "trouble" mechanism that keeps it from being too straight-forward.

Yeah, 7 wonders rules. Combination of strategy and quick game time that i've never encountered before. Olympia side A over side B imo. Whenever we play, if someone is using side B, their neighbors just don't build any guilds. The 'play for free' power from side A is ridic powerful, although the last time i played it I didn't even end up using it in the third age (and i still won by a dozen or so points)

GoT is by far the best conquest game i've ever played, but the games are sooooooooo long (~8 hours) if you have a full table, and if you don't have a full table then it's really unfair, because one person starts next to a whole bunch of empty land they can take with no casualties.

Re your suggestion: the name alone makes it sound like it's going to be a bit of a tough sell. Fuck.
