I really believe these lengthened offseasons/preseasons have played a big part in killing this game. Back when we had a 5 or 6 day offseason and a 4 day preseason there wasn't near as much boredom. Going from just over a week between seasons to damn near three weeks was just stupid. The people we need most (people that didn't own or coordinate but just built dots) got bored with so many days between lvl ups that they left.
All this does is allow FAs to fuck around too much before signing with a team. Back then it was sign with someone or your dot didn't level up. Now people can leave their dot in the marketplace for a month just to see how high they can get the interest bar. Don't even get me started on the douchebags that start threads in PLFT with top 5+ lists.
This whole attitude by owners, coordinators, and agents of "let's take as much time as possible to make sure we are ready for the next season" is fucking stupid. Shit or get off the pot. If it takes you that long to prepare for a season it's time to sell back the team. Back when I was in the regular leagues it took me one or two games and my team was ready to go. We are at the point where we aren't even playing this game any longer. 32-40 days of meaningful games and 16-26 days of sitting around doing nothing is definitely not playing a game.
