▓▓▓▓LEAGUE UNDERGROUND▓▓▓▓
▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓
*We understand that GLB is a business and needs to make money to sustain itself.
We are not discouraging others from buying flex or boosting their players.
In fact, most agents involved with League Underground actually do both.
Each season that this league succeeds should generate almost $300 for GLB.
What is League Underground?
Manually run league that creates it's own schedule and plays their games by scheduling scrimmages (friendlies)
How does it work?
It's pretty simple actually.
Every offseason, we set up the schedule for the upcoming season.
We release the schedule and have team owners for the home team send challenges to the visiting team.
Just like regular leagues, we play every other day.
When did it start?
The planning process for developing League Underground started back in Season 10 with the efforts of Loco Moco and tjanderson321.
How many leagues have there been?
There have been 5 leagues within League Underground.
The original started in season 12 and had eight strong seasons
The other 4 were staggered in later seasons and had a reset in season 20 for one big league, that has gone for 9 seasons and we're re-starting up the old leagues again which will be staggered in.
What do the winning teams get?
In the same way that tournament trophies are awarded, League Underground gives a trophy to the top three teams from each season.
Here are the trophies for the first League Underground: (created by ShOcK_N_AwWw)

Who runs League Underground?
There are a lot of active agents and owners in the league, but its mostly run by the following:
President: UTBEARFAN || http://goallineblitz.com/game/home.pl?user_id=13750
Commissioner: shockdisnation03 || http://goallineblitz.com/game/home.pl?user_id=4333
Deputy Commissioner: Open
Statistician: Open
What are the advantages of this type of league?
♦ Rivalries - Since locked leagues are NGTH, League Underground must be run manually.
Because our games are set up with scrimmages, it doesn't matter what league each team is in.
All teams involved should be playing each other for 7 seasons.
There are no team promotions or demotions.
♦ Level Playing Field - League rules have been established to ensure that all teams will get off to an equal start and develop at the same pace.
Because all teams are created equal, there are no gut jobs and each game is usually close.
♦ Cheaper Alternative - Instead of having a WR that boosts and doesn't get the ball that often, you could have a team in LU and get a lot more value for your flex. Also, you will never lose any flex on the players you create. Since they will not boost, you will get 100% returned upon retirement. Those agents who can't afford the more expensive players (HB, QB, WR, or even defense) can do so in the League Underground and enjoy having a prime-time player that gets good stats.
♦ Experiment - Instead of spending money (flex) to do something you're a little unsure of, you can test it out in the LU.
Many teams in the LU are built with rosters that aren't the GLB norm. Experimenting with rosters and builds on a boosting team could be considered a waste of flex, but in League Underground it's all for fun.
♦ Forum Activity - Most of the agents involved in League Underground are having fun and enjoying the rivalries and close games.
This has resulted in an active and fun forum.
♦ Less Work - While some agents greatly enjoy running an offense and defense with AI, there are plenty of available jobs out there to do so.
League Underground leveled the playing field even further by deciding to use basic settings only.
What are the rules?
1. Players will not boost
2. Players will not be wearing ANY custom equipment for League games
3. An agent can not be on more than two teams (unless otherwise approved by the Owner's Association)
4. All teams will use basic settings and can use offensive and defensive presets if they desire. This includes using a full playbook for any non-casual team.
5. A team owner can own ALL players on his team if he chooses.
6. All players must be created on or after the same day (Day 41 - Season 28).
7. All team avatars or notes should also include a League Underground logo or comment
What is required from agents and owners?
♦ Agents - All we expect from the owners and agents of League Underground is a commitment to see it through.
We expect this league to stay together for 7 seasons and it will only succeed if manage to keep our original teams in tact.
♦ Owners - The owners of League Underground need to understand that their team will cost approximately 800 flex each season.
That's 400 for the team and up to 400 additional flex for scrimmages.
They also need to be active enough to accept and send scrimmages when required. (with the increase to 6 scrimmages at a time, this is very easy to do)
Also, with the ability of GMs to donate for scrimmages, we hope that most owners won't have to take on the entire burden themselves.
How do I get involved?
We have an open invite policy for anyone that wants access to the League Underground Forums.
You don't need to have a player in the LU to get access.
We want the entire GLB community to be aware of what we're doing and see the positive benefit to it.
If you'd like to help run things and would like to assist one of the conferences, just send a PM to any of the agents listed above.
What's next?
League Underground 2 will be starting up either season 30 or 31, depending on interest.
*Thanks in advance for your interest in League Underground.
We also look forward to helping everyone in GLB get even more for their flex than they already do!
