Because the DL is now in a fixed position, we currently have 5 alignment choices...
Balanced
Weak
Strong
Spread
Bunch

The problem is that all of these have the DL players on a straight blitz, and that is far from optimal.

My suggestion would be to create a second set of options that involves the direction of the DL blitz...
Strong- have all the DL start their blitz angled slightly towards the strong side.
Weak - have all the DL start their blitz angled slightly towards the strong side.
Pinch - have all the DL start their blitz angled slightly towards the inside.
Spread - have all the DL start their blitz angled slightly towards the outside.

With this 2nd set of options, you have increased the total possible DL blitz schemes from 5 to 20, plus you could easily add more to this second set like stunts or a mix of the suggested ones to increase your total schemes even more.

This idea would add a lot of options for DL blitz schemes and add a whole new layer of complexity when it comes to offensive & defensive play calling and would only add value to the game.

Thoughts?

Not sure how difficult it would be to code/implement, but I love the idea tbh.

+1to this idea.

BUT

this would totally screw up Mr. GLBs LOLOline mess of a code he has now, and would totally confuse Oline dots.

Why?

Unless it takes a major redo of the code, I don't see any issues with this.
