lol, no. El is a decent barometer of how well dots are built but not at all a good indicator of how good the coordination of the team is. Look at the Steel Rain, they have some of the lower EL dots in Semi #2 but still manage to win against dots with huge EL advantages over them. Other teams with much higher EL often are not even getting any time from coordinators in the minors where they are just being incubated for Pro/WL. A great example is RNG who has had a massive EL advantage in this age group for the past few seasons but who aren't game planning on a game by game basis and don't really care to because they are just building them for another team.
I like Global Ranking as the method to rank teams. It rewards the teams that scrim a lot, enter a lot of tournaments and win most of their games. Yes, it isn't perfect because it goes off the previous seasons ranking but outside of Rookie where you have old team restarting I don't see it as being too far off the mark.
you cant do global rankings at the start of the season, how many times we got to go over this, rosters change coords change etc. The only real constant is EL. Now I have a lower EL team myself but I GP my ass off. I get that EL isnt perfect but its the only real thing to base rankings off at the start of the season for tournies.
