Existing players will be converted to a new age equivalent based upon the following conversion factors. Ages will be rounded up to the nearest whole number.

Day 0-19 .9
Day 20-29 .85
Day 30-39 .8
Day 40-79 .7 Day 40 player = 28 days old Day 79 player = 56 days old
Day 80-119 .65 Day 80 player = 52 days old Day 119 Player = 78 days old
Day 120-159 .6 Day 120 player = 72 days old Day 159 Player = 96 days old
Day 160-199 .54 Day 160 player = 87 days old Day 199 Player = 108 days old
Day 200-239 .56 Day 200 player = 112 days old Day 239 Player = 134 days old
Day 240-279 .55 Day 240 player = 132 days old Day 279 Player = 154 days old
Day 280-399 .57 Day 280 player = 160 days old, Day 320 player = 183 days old and Day 360 player = 206 days old
Day 400-440 .6 Day 400 player = 240 days old and Day 440 player = 264 days old
Day 441-560 (for players in plateau) subtract 160 days
Day 441-560 (for players not in plateau) no conversion
Day 561 no conversion

I did some calculations to see what ages our players will become and noticed a pretty big issue. Players that were built in the offseason (after day 40) are actually going to end up being older than the players built on day 40.

Day 40 to Day 0 players are all the same age, they implemented that a couple seasons ago

The more interesting thing is a player build on day 1, being 39 days old, will convert to a 31 day old dot, while a player created on day 40, so age 40, will be 28 days old....

Now THAT punishes a player twice, first in losing all off-season training, then by making them 3 days older than a player created BEFORE them.....ouch.....retire....

Regardless. How is a dot that is 119 days old before the conversion rate older than a dot that was 120 days old?

Why have we got different conversion rates for different age players in the first place?

Because a flat conversion would completely skew ages. It has to be done the way outlined.

This is probaly why all players day0 - day80 are getting a 100% refund on all flexes. Why even mess with the conversions or worry about it. Just build new dots for Season 24 and retire all Season 22-23 made dots. Season 22-23 dots won't make it into the pros or World League anyway.

current rookies will be:

28 days old = going into decline during the playoffs in your last playoff season
be level 15 if the boosted from 1-4 last offseason, next season rookies will be level 19 if they boost in the offseason after creation, level 16 if they donīt boost to level 4
having one less season of 1.6 increased training than the season 24 rookies, 2 season less than season 25 rookies and so on. So in the end the season 23 players are way behind the younger players in the endbuild and once the younger ones get to plateau they will take over for the season 23 players and making them worthless for WL and top Pro teams.

The level 15's will only be 28 days old though, a few days into next season when they are 40 days old they'll also be level 19, its just a bit goofy that everything will happen midseason.

Yep, not a lot of reaction to something I expected to be a big deal. Maybe I should have done the cool thing and post in GLB main instead of the correct forum. We'll see what happens when (if) Catch spots this thread.

I'm surprised Bort didn't use some a formula based on e^x like he did for the automatic level gains instead of these simplistic tiers.

Probably would have made more sense... But, it would be a little tough to come up with something to get the numbers he wants with e^x. A natural log might have made more sense, but then again, that also might be too quickly growing at the younger values.

That's because you are wrong. The players are all the same age. You just don't feel like listening.
