Ha! Too funny Grizz. Self-depreciate much?

Well, this was true to some extent. I went out of town for the weekend and my tactics/DC were still set for the rushing QB.
Not to take anything away from Hawaiian, but I think I could've won that game with more focus....

Fine. If Terry won't do it, here's my Top Ten:

1) ECT
2) insert random Western conference team ranked in the top 7
3) insert random Western conference team ranked in the top 7
4) insert random Western conference team ranked in the top 7
5) insert random Western conference team ranked in the top 7
6) insert random Western conference team ranked in the top 7
7) insert random Western conference team ranked in the top 7
8) insert random Western conference team ranked in the top 7
9) LA or AO
10) LA or AO

Honorable mention: Rome and Motor City

I bet y'all like Terry's better...

Perhaps Terry is on holiday, having not logged in for several days?

Davis is currently right, a lot of teams can be intermingled amongst the top ten. I'll attempt a one-off mid-season ranking and try to fill in those blanks. I will only base an order on who've we actually played, and on the consistency shown by those we haven't. These are the ones AO fears the most at mid-season...

1 East Coast Tide - Their special teams unit is undeniable. It's 1/3 of the game for most teams, but 1/2 for theirs. Plus a bend, don't break defense that could win another league title.

2 ReDisturbed - very consistent, excellent scouting and gameplanning.

3 Rocky Mountain Outlaws - strong team, has always played us very close. Only getting stronger from what I've seen this season.

4 AO - fading fast...

5 MUSTANG NATION "Touchy Fillies" - extremely competent in all areas, an all-around team that is difficult to find a weakness in. I think they could be champions again. They have money they could be using for morale bonuses.

6 L.A. Smack Down - I'll find out in a couple of days.

7t MotorCity Cats - former league champions, they remain dangerous and can change up their offense from game to game. Always seem to have something extra saved for the post-season.

7t Nerd Herd Gators - Keeping QB rushing sexy. I already miss watching the Gators vs Destroyers.

9 Darkness - Their placement is only a consequence of being in such a difficult conference. I get the feeling they are saving a bit more for the playoffs than several of the other teams. They also have salary cap room for morale.

10 Hawaiian Kings - Consistent at winning close games. AO has scrimmed, and I think they would do even better given another chance later in the season.

Honorables: Renegades and Wranglers

As a poor fill in for Terry - here is my top ten.........err top 7 and next 4

1-East Coast Tide I have been on the ECT bandwagon foe a while now. As the last undefeated they are clearly the class of the league. They have beaten AO, Darkness, and RDW all twice, until somebody defeats them they are will remain atop my rankings.

2-Alpha Omega They have loss to ECT twice and have beaten my number 3 team in scrimmage game. I’m not sure how hard Redisturbed tried in the scrimmage, but a win is a win.

3-Redisturbed Their only regular season loss is to RMO and have the top rated defense in the league. While they have been unimpressive against RDW and Rome, they did manage to pull out wins against both teams. As of right now they are the class of the West.

4-MotoCity Cats This team has played a weak schedule this far. The true test will come in the second half of the season, but at this point they are 8-1 and deserving of top 5 ranking.

5-Darkness The second best team in the West, but the loss to RDW puzzles me. A big matchup in a couple of weeks against Redisturbed will likely be for the top seed in the West. I think Davey may be saving a little something for his DWO comrade and the playoffs.

6-Rocky Mountain Outlaws The only team to beat Redisturbed, but losses to the Darkness and Fillies have dropped them out of the top 5. Upcoming matchups against Rome and RDW will determine if they move up or continue to fall.

7-L.A. Smackdown With losses to RDW and ECT and a win over MotorCity this is another team I don’t have a clear read on yet. Their game against AO will decide a lot for me.

OK - from here on out it is a toss up of 4 teams I find it impossible to rank.

Nerd Herd Gators Fairly weak schedule so far, but I fully expect them to separate themselves for the rest by the end of the season. The loss to Redisturbed was expected, but the loss to the King was a shock. They still have RMO, Darkness and RDW on the schedule.

Mustang Nation Touchy Fillies Another team with a fairly weak schedule in the early season. With losses to NHG and RDW they are a huge question mark. The upcoming games against Darkness, Redisturbed, Rome, and the Kings will sort out a lot.

Hawaiian Kings The loss to Redisturbed was expected, but the loss to RDW is bit confusing. Their upcoming games against Darkness and the Fillies will sort out a lot.

Red Dirt Wranglers Hell I own the team and can’t figure them out. Once again the loss the Redisturbed was understandable, but the losses to Rome and the Brownies confuse the hell out of me. I was beginning to think this team was over rated, but then they beat Darkness and the Fillies. With a victory already over the Kings the upcoming matchups against NHG and RMO will be key.

Thanks guys for the write ups...always interesting to read and gets folks talking...as for Fillies...I m kinda off my game..a bunch of stuff in RL has me distracted ATM...Hoping we can redeem ourselves before long and the losses we ve had have been to some great teams...maybe not consistent teams but nonetheless great teams, but dang...it s tough to be consistent in this tough league, at least for me right now....GG to all those we ve played and to those coming up...good to see old friends/rivalries making some noise in Elite

First of all, thanks for doing these and putting in more effort than I did. Here is some of my thoughts on the rankings, but remember to take it for what it is worth.

1) No offense to the Eastern Conference, but I don't think they should be ranked this high with the exception of ECT. I don't think anyone can argue against ECT being in first.

However, who is Motor City's best win? I'd say Panama City or possibly Rising and they have losses (granted some are in scrimmages so you never know) to LA (twice), Redisturbed (twice), Rome, and Rocky Mountain. None of those losses are bad, but without a signature win, I don't think that they can be ranked in the top 10, especially not 4.

LA, I can understand more since they have (in addition to the MC wins, which are discounted IMO) two scrimmage wins over NHG, which are quality wins. However, the regular season loss to RDW is surprising (maybe? RDW is such a huge ? to me) as is the scrimmage loss to Rising. Throw in scrimmage losses to Mustang Nation and Darkness, and you are relying solely on past season's successes or the NHG's wins to rank them anywhere above 8-10 range.

AO, I can actually see ranked in the top 5 now that I look at it again (possibly 2). The only losses are ECT with scrimmage wins over Rome (twice), Hawaiian, Redisturbed, and RDW. You always wonder about the effort that goes into the scrimmages, but oh well. No bad losses, no really great wins.

2) Who the hell are the Wranglers? My first thought is that they have a huge season long home promotion and no road promotion (1-3 on the road and 4-0 at home). This could also explain the fact that they have no quality scrimmage wins, which probably don't consider home field. If that's the case, how do you explain the Darkness win? Possible mismatch with Red Dirt's defensive strength being passing D as well as the pick 6 lead to a big morale hit for Darkness that could never recover after falling behind early. This could also explain the 19th ranked lol eff lvl. Overcome this with the promotion. I don't know that a promotion can make this much difference, but the conference has a lot of parity, so maybe?

3) How do you really rank the West? My head hurts every time I try to think about it, so I'm not going to right now. All I know for certain is that Rome is perfect in that 8 spot (nice 10-6 record), and I don't want to play NGH, because they always trounce me...

No promotions home or away for RDW. Like I said my team confuses me. I expected to beat both you and Rising and lose to Darkness and Mustang. And no we don't don't do anything for scrims except the tourney games which ECT eliminated us from both tourneys we entered. As for the effective level - I never pay attention to it, we build our dots to fit our settings rather than to be compared to every other dot at the same position and same level. If you look at my dots at the pro level their effective levels are always above the age level.

Well, there goes my only rational theory. I also expected y'all to beat us, especially after you beat the shit out of us twice last season, but of course, that was before we boosted.

When we beat you guys last season, it was early and your team had chemistry issues. I expected you guys to be tougher this time around, but still expected a win. After looking at your team's schedule I should have included Rome in the best of the rest rankings.
