Good line for Burning Pride-Sea Turtles. Neither of us give up a lot of points, so I'd be surprised if it's decided by more than 3-6 points, personally.

the NE / Fiji game will be great, two very good teams facing each other... West Scranton against Canberra is also bound to be a great game.

If they were taking real bets I'd have paid off my student loans betting on you already lol.

Yeah. I'm willing to give the Canes that this is a toss-up. But where in the world do you get the other 25 points?

Not much respect coming your way this year.

Why shouldn't you be underdogs? Your wins are against teams with a combined record of 8-22. You are also playing a very tough U Canes team. I think the line is very accurate.

And they beat teams that are a combined 9-15 (4-14 not including Outlaws). 25 points for that? They are a really good team and this is a tossup but comon, 25 points? We've only lost by that much once since taken over (to a team that has truly been dominating our conference). And besides, I was just saying...what kind of 5-1 team is expected to lose by 25 points (and to a 4-2 team)?

Sigh, it doesn't matter. Let's just see how the stupid game plays out.

This.

In my personal opinion, +25 either way in this series is a lock. No team has ever scored more than 20 against the other. We traditionally play The U to defensive battles, and that's just the way it has been. 20-9, 13-0, and 3-0 are the previous results in this matchup. The Canes have been getting closer every time, and probably should have won last years game if not for some fortunate luck on our side. This could be the year they take it, just not by 25 points

The spreads are stat-based, much like what DSF posts. I will tell you straight up why the Gods are not getting any love from my spreads...

Week 1 - Caninites beat Gods 33-6. The Caninites have scored more points on only two other occasions this season and those were against teams with a combined 2-10 record.

Week 2 - Gods beat Tongan 23-17. While 23 points is the most anyone has scored on the Auha all season, Tongan scored their second highest tally of the season in the losing effort.

Week 3 - Gods beat Sharks 34-7. Only the Growas have scored fewer points on the Sharks this season and they are sitting at 2-4. Pair that with the fact that the Sharks scored more points in that game alone than every other game this season combined, and you can see why the stats are starting to go against the Gods.

Week 5 - Gods beat Tiger Sharks 12-9. Even the Astronauts offense was able to score a field goal on these guys. You would think that the Gods would be able to put more than 12 points on the board.

I am leaving off the other two Gods wins because they do not have a negative outcome on the numbers. I don't doubt for a second that the Gods are one of the elite teams in this league, but you have had a rather easy schedule thus far and the formula I use is accounting for that. Your opponents are a combined 14-22, while TUC's opponents are a combined 18-18.

Honestly, I would be shocked to see TUC cover a 25 point spread over you guys. I would compare this to the Rawle Tech spread I posted last week.

*sigh* it all started with a simple line...it was a statement, not a disagreement. I know about the numbers...why does everyone always bring up the numbers haha

hey i like the idea of us being underdogs....thats how we won our first title...no one saw us coming, we snuck into the playoffs as a middle seed...and then dominated the playoffs...last year we had a target on our back and nearly won it all again...and really we would be a godsend to anyone betting on us....to me its interesting how the spread looks for us everyweel...

Both games last season between the Burning Pride and Sea Turtles were really close. This is the one I've had my eye on for the first half of the season.

All I know is I probably won't bet on the point spread, but book me for the under, whatever it comes out as.
