One round down three to go for the gold. I obviously don't know a whole lot about this league cause I missed a couple huge upsets. So if you don't want to read this I would completely understand. But I am going to try again anyways.

ALPHA

#4 Greyling Goblins (14-3) @ #1 Steel City Mafia (16-1)

RSM - (34-14) Goblins
Highlights> This game was closer than the score would indicate. SCM deployed some questionable punting tactics, or lack there of, by not punting in obvious punting situations. This gave the Goblins very good field position all game. Goblins also got a FF inside the redzone of SCM which led to an easy TD. Most of this game was a fight for field position as most all statistics were pretty even.

How they got to this point> SCM struggled in the first half against the Whores dropping behind 14-0 and trailing at the half 21-10. The defense stepped up in the second half behind the strength of their D MVP Greene_ who finished with 10 tackles, 7 sacks, and 6 hurries. SCM barely won 31-24. Greyling dominated the Mercenaries 60-16 owning TOP, and running all over them. Camel, I mean Prime Toe ST MVP pitched in with 2 PR for TD's.

Thoughts on the match-up> SCM is 0-2 lifetime against the Goblins, and they never hesitate to state a reminder. Greyling has the clear edge in ST's over the average unit owned by SCM. The edge in offense and defense would have to go to SCM, but these are always tough to judge when a team like the Goblins can shorten a field or score as much as their ST's unit can. You control Camel, I mean Prime Toe, and you give yourself a chance to win.

Prediction> Camel, I mean Prime Toe is the key to this game, he scores, the Goblins win, he doesn't, SCM wins <Unknown, you tell me>

#7 Kung Fu Island Er's (11-6) @ #3 Las Vegas White Tigers (15-2)

RSM - (35-6) Tigers
Highlights> A game dominated by the White Tigers in every way. Kung Fu didn't help themselves turning the ball over 4 times. But they were beat in every other aspect as well so even without the turnovers they may have lost, just not as bad. Cruz, O MVP, had over 100 yards and 2 TD's to lead Las Vegas.

How they got to this point> Kung Fu summoned the spirit of Bruce Lee himself and forced 3 turnovers to upset the #2 seed Bulldogs 23-13. Just goes to show you, no matter how much better a record is, turnovers will kill any team. Las Vegas hit the repeat button and copied their last regular season game against the Voodoo and beat them 58-27. Stats were pretty even, but the Tigers got two PR TD's to push them over the top.

Thoughts on the match-up> Kung Fu still comes into this game as a heavy underdog. I am sure they have caught the eye of the Tigers with their upset, but they are still statistical underdogs in every stat. Except one, which may be the only chink in the Tigers armor. Kung Fu likes to throw the ball, and Las Vegas is only ranked 22nd in the league against the pass. Even with that, Kung Fu needs to figure out a way to control O MVP Cruz and the whole #2 ranked rushing offense of the Tigers or they stand no shot. They also need to win the turnover battle, unlike the last match-up.

Prediction> Kung Fu calls on Bruce Lee again, but alas, he's dead, so is the Er's playoff run, game is closer than the first meeting <28-17 Tigers>

ZETA

#4 Cape Town Great Whites (14-3) @ #1 ECKO BLACK (16-1)

RSM - (62-10) BLACK
Highlights> This game was early in the season before the Great Whites found their stride, but was totally one sided. BLACK Scored on offense and ST's, forced 10 sacks. ECKO didn't let Cape Town score till the 4th quarter. Must have been tough to come away feeling anything positive if you were Cape Town.

How they got to this point> Cape Town took to the air throwing for over 400 yards and got 3 PR for TD's in a blowout victory over the Killer Bees 79-13. Cape Town owned every statistical edge that there is, so this game was just an old fashioned wood shed beating. It was a ballgame till halftime where it was only 10-3, but all BLACK needed was their ST MVP The Birdman Stroud and the rest of the team could have showed up with flip flop's on. Stroud had 5 PR for TD's and the rest didn't mater cause they rolled to an 83-3 crushing victory over Green Bay.

Thoughts on the match-up> Great Whites are now the hottest team in Zeta. They barely won early against the Bees, but then crushed them in the playoffs . If they can have that kind of improvement in their second game against the BLACK, then they have a solid chance. BLACK showed signs of weakness dropping their last game to the Panthers, who lost to an 8-8 team in their playoff game. Both teams are pretty similar in the rankings for O, D, and ST"s with a slight edge going to ECKO. Cape Town is much improved since they last met but is it enough? ECKO has two MVP's on their team and playoffs are when MVP's show their worth.

Prediction> Great Whites give ECKO a scare, scare, scare, but come up a little short in a much closer game than the last time <38-21 BLACK>

#6 Beers Of The World (9-8) @ #3 Lake Opeta Legionnaires (15-2)

RSM - (21-17) Legionnaries
Highlights> Total yards were dead even 241-241, in such a close game Beers made one ST's mistake and let up a PR for a TD in the 4th quarter. Beers trailed the whole game but the PR was too much too late to overcome.

How they got to this point> Beers, an 8-8 team with only a highly ranked run game to show for themselves shocked Elite #2 Zeta with an upset over a solid Panthers team, 20-6, who may still be scratching their heads at how this happened. This game should prove that in Elite play there is no such thing as a gimmie. Beers owned the TOP and never trailed in the upset. Cape Town hangs on to win 21-17. Great Whites scored the first 21 points, then held their breath as the Knights tried to climb out of the hole only to fall short.

Thoughts on the match-up>The first match-up was very close, and after the shocking upset, who can really say Beers has no chance in this game? All Beers does is run the ball well, but Lake Opeta and their #1 rushing attack led by Bo Jefferson O MVP are a little better. On paper the edge for defense goes to the Legionnaires, but the Panthers were better on paper than Beers too and look how that turned out for them. This game could come down to who makes less mistakes, and as we've seen in other games, they can level any game.

Prediction> Tough to pick against a team that finished 500 and pulled an upset, first match-up proved this will be close, score is flipped <21-17 Beers>

Congratulations to all teams for making it this far, for those that lost, better luck next season. Let's hope for good sims and good luck to all teams left.

What questionable punting tactics do you plan to deploy this time? Gonna punt on 3rd down to throw us off or something?

Also... uh... hate to point it out... but we're the 3 seed, not the 2 seed.
