It is very unlikely that most of an entire populous in a competitive game will choose not to be competitive.

If that is true, and you know how to fix their builds, you therefore are potentially the answer to your own query.

The only way they will get better is if people with the knowledge share that knowledge. Tell them how to build better dots, or you will continue finding it "funny".

Unless of course you are just breaking our balls, in which case:

1. Yes, I am breaking balls (at least a little bit)

2. I try to share my knowledge all the time. If you look around some of the various forums (especially DL forum) you will see I offer up advice all the time. My preaching on the benefit of quad training got so old I was compared to Warlock preaching about his FB. Every once in a while, an agent or two will listen to me, and some even send me PMs asking for advice.

3. Most people however didn't listen when I was posting all over the forums about how they needed to enhance attributes and 4 way multi-train as early and often as possible.

4. It's not just casual. Most of the 199 day old teams in the regular leagues are below 660 average as well. (although I think a couple of teams are around 680)

that last lb is pretty impressive...especially since i thought my level 39 lb which is 659sp was pretty impressive....how many times did you enhance on the multi training?

Listening to Rage is an extremely good idea.

My lvl 39s are at 685-690 or so, but I now know how Rage got to above 700 as he posted it in various places (training attributes in the 80s being the main thing I wasn't doing, amirite?) so can improve with my next batch.

That's great to hear! (I had a sneaking suspicion you we prolific in your advice, but I had to needle anyway)

Now if we all just sent a few players to you every once in a while to learn how to build, we'd be in better shape in no time (assuming that they followed your build plans).

Results tend to shift that bias. So now that it's clear that you weren't backing up the wrong tree, we can now start getting on the right build track.

That's good(?) to hear. I mean it's kinda good that we're not the only ones not doin' it right, just because we're a bit more casual about the whole deal, that even the hardcore guys are making the same build errors. But it's not good that we're all making errors.

Again with the honesty. Nevertheless, that is a good example at least with the difference of level/eff level of a clearly different build. I also see some strong and diverse stats, e.g., lots of tackles, some sacks, quite a few PDs - nicely well rounded effectiveness. I may have to track down some of these posts you've made about LBs.

I know we don't want cookie cutter dots dominating the scene, and I know people with very good building knowledge don't always want to share to keep their knowledge for fear of losing their building edge. However, building schemes seem to be one of those GLB missing pieces for newer players. While it's fun to experiment and learn the game, once you've decided to be serious about dot building, either you network with guys and eventually run into someone like you and success follows, or they stumble around getting a little info here and there not quite amounting to much.

Hopefully we'll see some things in place that make the former happen more often (and easier) than the later.

Thanks for your response.

Cheers,

Aron

Also, it's not a bad idea to ask for access to the build advice forum through this thread
http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4195386

There are multiple good builders who try to help people with their builds in that forum, and there are some different build paths suggested that are all very effective.

bummer, I thought I was doing good with HH LB at 39/50!
I read all your tips, do you not worry about the minor att's? I don't quad train when the att's are in the 80's because I'm worried about having stamina/conf/jumping (while still training speed).
I think after I get the minors to about 38 I'll go back to normal train either str/tack/agi til it hits 90.
Also, will you have 4 aeq's?

I have to give Rage Kinard huge props! I was one of probably many people who have PM'd him. He does not come off as a know it all or anything like that. He gives his advice freely and in a very understandable way. Take it from me, I am 2 seasons in and still a noob. Although, I do not have any superstar archtype dots (QB, RB, WR, etc). Rage Kinard (and mandyross) gave me advice that helped me and I am greatful

I'll end up going with 3 because I want to quad train up until the 9th season. I have found quad training for 9 seasons and going with 3 pieces of AEQ gives a better build (at most positions) than having 4 pieces of AEQ. There are some positions like Quarterback, and some where you want to go real extreme (like end up with an attribute over 165 with equipment) where 4 pieces of AEQ and a different training path is better though.

sorry I didn't answer this. 30%

Also, once I'm done capping the first attribute, I circle cap either 2 or 3 of the other attributes I'm multi-training. It depends on the position as to which I chose.
