Relaxed is currently +0%, Normal +5%, and Hard +10% to attributes. Energy usage is -10%, 0%, +10%.

What if it was more like

0% attr/-10% energy or even -20% energy
+1% attr/0% energy
+2% attr/+10% energy

2% is not a huge difference, and you might willing to give it up to go for the -10% energy if you have lousy stamina.

Now this is something I agree with

You know, I understand where this is coming from, but it can be used as somewhat of a leverage tool... I was once on a team that was fucking me around and weren't living up to the deals they had promised me upon coming in, and after one season I got pissed and decided that I wanted out and I told them so, and that if I didn't get a clean release I was going to play on relaxed and do everything I could to sandbag the team.

That got me my release.
Why didn't they just take you out the depth chart and make you sit?

Uh, why would we want our guys to play weaker than they are now?

I agree 100% on this suggestion. This needs to be eliminated from the game, or changed in some way so the option has a more legitimate effect on the player and the games played between teams.

One season, I decided to experiment with the play intensity level and alternate back and forth between hard and normal for a couple of reasons. First, to see if it would help increase the total number of plays my player would get for a single game (since less energy is "supposedly" used up as fast), to somewhat counter against other agents/players that completely go overboard on stamina because they are so worried about their player(s) not receiving the maximum experience per game. The second reason, was to just see if it even really made a noticeable difference at all with how my player performed during a game.

What I discovered was this, my player barely had any increase in the number of total plays. It was anywhere from 1-2 plays at the most per game, which is nothing really. The performance level of my player using normal versus hard didn't matter either. After watching the games, my player seemed to perform at the same level and put up similar stats, regardless if I set the play intensity level on hard or normal.

And any player with the name Childress should be immediately terminated from GLB. What a moron he was.

Regarding the OP, I disagree because it would limit a player with his options if he's getting screwed over by the team. What other recourse does he have?

If it didn't give such huge swings in one direction and actually had a tactical stand point I would love to have it in the game. Per suggestion either remove or tweak it, that tweaking sounds like something I could be down for.

I agree, either remove it or come up with a better way for it

Plus change the name as well because relax just sounds undesirable.

How about Normal, Hard, and Max

Normal being someone who plays the game as normal, I guess more conservative and Max being the guy who give 120% on every play. Hard can just be the balance between the two

This function of the game doesn't make much sense to me anymore, there isn't a single dot who WANTS to be running on relaxed or normal so why even make that a tactical option.

Unless something else was tied to this such as play intensity at points of the game etc I don't really see the function it provides anymore.

I think it should be removed or tweaked

get rid of it. You can make it an interesting game choice out of it, but why would you want to? How could meaningful relaxed/normal/hard tactcis possibly make this game more fun?
