Would be nice to have shell formations and only allow certain options for each position.

We'll allow users to submit their plays using the DPC. There will, however, be a blurb that a play will not be chosen for use if the movement of defensive players would cause issues (defenders positioned in such a way that it would create potential exploits/flaws in the sim).

Bah, it all becomes one big casual game. Well, I'll enjoy GLB while it lasts.

+1. Stacking is one of the 5 biggest problems with this game right now...

I don't think he's ever looked at Madden playbooks before, p sad

If you can't have a DPC without having unmanageable expoits then you can't have it. Answer is to have an ass load of off and def plays where it is impossible to match them all up. Might be more like real football.

This is what we are looking to accomplish.

I don't buy it at all that the DPC has these unmanageable exploits.

P.S. Since you brought it up, real football involves coaches drawing up new defensive plays all the time, FWIW.

I am greatly worried about rushing QBs taking over the early leagues. We already see it in L4 Casual, but the DPC seemed to be the only thing holding them in check...

My biggest fear is that all of the plays provided will be geared towards WL. Players at lower levels just don't react the same way b/c of low vision/agility. Safeties can't react properly in zones, etc.

At the lower levels it's already bad enough that a team can just throw the same few pass plays over and over and put up 60-70 points...now that's going to be even worse.

This shows you know nothing about the coaching side of football, be it dots or Real.

I think the best thing would be the change that I was trying to push for in season 6 with regards to the DAI:

Give DCs the ability to set coverage shells (like we can now) and have drop down menus for who the cover (like now).

The most maddening facet of the old DAI was that the LOLB and SS were always on the TE, MLB on the HB, ROLB on the FB, etc etc.

This man speaks the truth. Have a UI wrapped around the options available in the AI. Just lock down the players from free alignment. Have the options like the DL with: weak, strong, middle.

One of the best ways to attack offenses right now is to take advantage of their extreme builds. For example, I simply don't cover blocking TEs anymore. If the offense sends him into a route I actually hope they do throw the ball to him. There is a much better chance of an incompletion vs a throw to a WR in triple coverage.

with the DPC, I can scout the best team in less than half an hour and kill them with a lesser squad:

this takes any skill from the game. you are designing this game for the suckers.

listen toi them cheer. cheer you turkeys.
now you won't suck even tho u never bothered to learn to play.

oh man dude, you're right.

if only we had looked to a bottom tiered cap 34 league for guidance.
