FFLW - Tonga

I'm really interested in this game. Speaking for Tonga of course... I know that we're a tad behind the elite teams, but that we have a puncher's chance if things break right. This new Cananite team... I don't know. Are they elite? Or are they merely among the upper echelon?

I don't know... we've got a little "sumthin sumthin" planned, but I'm not real confident. With a gun to my head, I would probably lay the 7... but, if anyone is actually wagering real units, Tonga will give their best. We obviously need big plays and turnovers.

Are you sure? I am starting my backups where I can for this game.

As for the Cananites, I am not as convinced that they have the elite talent so much as elite game planning and scouting. Not that their players are average by any means, but I think they are more akin to Tongan and IC in that we often play above our talent by good game planning/tactics.

If Tongan plays above their level, we are in a world of trouble. They outlevel us significantly.

Im just curious, who do you consider the elite teams in this league?

So far, and I mean no disrespect by this, I dont really see any elite teams. I see a lot of upper echelon teams that have a chance to win any game. It all comes down to game planning IMO.

I'm just trying to straighten out Tonga... we're battling a creeping malaise... an ill wind. Things aren't clicking, regardless of level. Game planning is fine, we're just very stagnant.

I agree with this 100%. We are usually outleveled most of the games against the good teams. We have to outplan in order to win. That has been our game for 2 seasons now. It makes it fun.

Rawle Tech would certainly like another crack at the Cananites. I think that may have been our biggest loss in three seasons.

Good game. You had a very nice plan. That was one ugly game by both teams...LOL.

Defensive battle. Only one TD in the game. Good luck to you the rest of the way. Hopefully we will meet again in the playoffs.

Fixed.

Good game, guys. Possibly the best team we have played so far this season, even though your record doesn't say so. I have no doubt that you guys will at least still be in the hunt by the end of the season.

How I did with my spreads...

Buen Retiro Longhorns +70 @ IC Incinerators -70 - IC wins by 145. Same deal as last week: definitely deserving of the largest spread, but not large enough.

Auckland Flames -41 @ Hollywood Decepticons +41 - Auckland wins by 53. Off by 12, but I will take it since the spread was so large.

Outback Astronauts +40 @ Saipan Fighters -40 - Saipan wins by 13. I guess I underestimated the Astronauts.

FFLivewire Cans -33 @ Bermuda Pirates +33 - FFLivewire wins by 107. Wow, just wow. I didn't see a 100+ point win coming in this one.

Brisbane Gods +28 @ Nauru Tiger Sharks -28 - Gods win by 3. They finally beat a quality opponent, so look for them to be favorites next week.

Las Vegas Outlaws +28 @ The U Canes -28 - TUC wins by 9. They are good, but not as good as I had them pegged for in this game.

Emerald City Flying Monkeys -21 @ Tasmania Devils +21 - Emerald City wins by 17. Almost spot on!

Rawle Tech -21 @ Kiribati Blitz - RT wins by 42. Doh!

Dogdandy Enforcers +19 @ New England Burning Pride -19 - New England wins by 6. Too high.

Speightstown Rum Runners +18 @ Wagga Wagga Fighting Squirrels -18 - Wagga Wagga wins by 18. Ding ding!

Fiji Sea Turtles -9 @ Brisbane Bandits +9 - Fiji wins by 20. Off by 11, not too shabby.

FFLW Caninites -7 @ Tongan Crimson Auha +7 - Nites win by 12. Almost spot on!

Aussie Cardinals +6 @ Brantford Mustangs -6 - Stangs win by 26. Ouch.

Canberra Strike -5 @ Newcastle Bearcats +5 - Newcastle wins by 7. Only the second time I had the wrong team favored so far. Yeah, it is a moral victory.

Perth Scorpions +5 @ West Scranton Invaders -5 - West Scranton wins by 16. Off by 11. I will take it.

Big Island Growas -3 @ Great Barrier Reef Sharks +3 - Big Island wins by 21. Ehhh...

I don't see many surprises happening this week.

15-1 this week

(29-3 overall)
