Do many defensive positions choose this or this mostly O-line with blocking being a major?

Just curious if you want to build a defensive special teamer, do you need to go full force special team archetype or just get the VA and be a bit of a hybrid at it?

Really, in my book it's a useless AT. You really don't need Tackling AND Blocking as majors. Plus the major in stamina is mostly useless for any player.

Major in stamina would be of value at some positions...but since STOPers get the only functional energy-related VA it makes even less sense to choose the archetype.

It would seem like an archetype owners of teams would make to fill gaps on rosters and prevent energy loss on main game-time players. I personally cant see people who arent team owners to make guys like that, no glory or main game time cinematics.

Special Teams is a very under-rated part of the game and can be very dramatic (though you are right, it is mostly team owners who intentionally make them).

This issue here is that STOPers are built more effectively without using the ST archetype.

Agree on it making no sense.

As for the value of sta as a major, only if you treat as such and cap it sooner rather than later. Show me a build that capped stamina before any of the other majors in that list.

For some positions, but not all. I went the cheap route and chose centers, so STOP made sense for me in order to get majors in speed & tackling.

it sounds mostly geared for protecting the returner and not really a big deal for the other side of special teams, which i get and that is fine, but it's the other side attacking the ball carrier that im interested more in. but you dont really need to specialize in that i guess.

Well my guys are intended to do both, as they're going to have Monster Hit, Head Hunter, and force fumble AEQ.

Mine is a two way guy who nevers sees regular snaps, so having algs on blocking, tackling, speed, and agility seemed pretty good to me. Having the major in stamina just means I can get it where I need it with very few SP if any.

exactly. As a teamowner, i built 5 stops, and am extremely pleased with the results thus far.

If no one else wants to make them, so much the better for my field position.

Yep. Combo Corner - FWIW (Speed, Strength, Agility, Tackling as majors)
