And for the record, I think FAQ is pretty good, it just needs more mods dedicated to answering questions. I've been spending more time in there lately, but I get tired of answering everything.

THe community would rate posts. I agree with you about people thinking a falsehood is true, but the ratings could help clean the spam and trolling up a bit anyway. Plus people who often give helpful advice would likely end up with better ratings than those who don't.

Hi,

There is a lot of good info in the position talk forums. There is also a lot of terrible advice and bad info. Unfortunately, in today's day and age, some people like to express strong opinions and act like an authority on a topic when they have no idea whatsoever, and zero experience on that topic.

So how can you tell the good from the bad? Simple. You can click on the posters name and go to his page. If he's giving advice about Hard Hitting Strong Safeties, and he doesn't have a Safety and never did (check retired players tab for that), then he doesn't know what he's talking about. If he does have one, and that dots effective level is lower than his actual level, then again, he doesn't know what he's talking about.

These quick and simple checks can prevent you from taking bad advice.

Good luck.

Wow this is maybe the stupidest advice on these forums. There is a GM on my team who would put most people's knowledge about builds to shame yet he has only created a few players.

Would be good if it was attached to a rating system. Obviously, rating systems could be abused too, but at least with a rating system you don't get positive points for negative or worthless posts.

BTW, if you decide to Suggest this, Let me know and I'll help bump it.

i would as well. im not entirely sure we should get reward points, but new players do need a resource or good way to get in touch with knowledgeable vets... a better way than just the FAQ forum.

The community doesn't know enough to rate the quality of advice posts, otherwise there wouldn't be a need to promote more good advice. Sorry, but it's just a bad idea. People with knowledge must want to share that knowledge for their own reasons, not because they might get some flex out of it.

There will always be exceptions to what Hulk said, but it's generally still a good idea. And W3 would be the first to admit that he's not one of the game's elite builders, although I agree that he knows more than the average poster.

i think he is talking about me actually... and as i think you know, djinnt, i do know a good deal -- probably a lot more than most people in this game. do i know everything? far from that... still havent figured out how to use the new training super efficiently, haha. i found a way that works fairly well that involves multi training from day 200-400 that i like a lot, but im sure there are better ways than that.

and this. there is maybe one position that i would consider myself elite as building (CB) but that aside, im just merely above average in that i know what im doing... and if you know what youre doing, you can probably make a good WL or at the very least pro dot.

imo making WL players requires know-how plus a lot of luck. there's no guarantee that 8-10 seasons after you start your player your build direction will make any sense even if it would have been godly had it matured the season you built it.

I don't like multi training tbh. Intense, normal and light for me depending on the situation.
for example, for the first attribute I like to go intense to the first cap, then light on the second attribute amassing BT to spend on the first and cap it more quickly
but it requires a lot of calibrating as you go

The ones who don't are also the ones who don't go to the main forums at all.

This is the problem, you just can't shove peoples faces into the right information, everybody thinks they know what they're doing at the start. I spent my first two months avoiding the forums, they're pretty intimidating, even without the trolls and memes, there's a ton of lingo and shorthand to deal with. I just studied the Wiki.

I'm thinking of putting together a comprehensive new player guide to put on the Wiki if anyone might be interested in helping. I've done a player creation guide, but still want to have a section for Tactics, Depth Charts, OAI, DAI and pretty much everything else involved with the game.

Do you have the time to update it every couple of days or so? Do you have access to a tester to ask what has been working and not, for a particular season? If you answered no to any of those questions, don't bother.

both created same day. Waited to boost till end of next season.
Lv 26 with 977 XP

Lv 27 with 32 XP. Boosted to Lv 4 immediately. Still has one boost left.

And the gap is still closing.

I like how I was talking about level 4 leagues as opposed to level 14 league to start a farm team.
