Ahh... but that's the point, jim old friend... they're not "average" quite yet.
And if I was in the NFL and they put the bump and run rule back in, I wouldn't go out and grab a bunch of new CBs. I'd encourage the ones I had to bump all they wanted. See... your analogy doesn't quite fit. Because GLB changed the rules without really telling anyone how drastic the change was until after it was clear that there was a problem with what was changed.
But I don't begrudge you for doing it. It's just not the way I do things. To me it's abusing of a situation I know is broken. Leaves me feeling a little dirty... If you take offense at the word dirty, please don't. It's my own personal belief that guides me... and I don't force it on anyone. Everyone is free to do what they want (within the law, of course). Just because we disagree on things from time to time doesn't mean I don't respect you or wouldn't have a brew or two with ya. Hell... next time you're in Louisville, first round is on me. (You can get seconds and thirds.)In a rare instance, I totally disagree with you my friend, by the way your argument of changing cb's is not what I was saying. THE POINT IS, there is nothing dirty with playing within the rules. By saying you think it isn't right, even though your competitors could do it to beat you and would not have any bad conscience in doing so! In a sense you are saying it is a form of bad sportsmanship. NOT if it is the ONLY way to fill your roster AFTER trying to do it the traditional way. As far as I am concerned, a couple of season ago, GLB changed the game by making confidence much more part of the game. I adjusted and we changed the order of training, putting stamina a little behind. As a result many of my players can get tired a little quicker than I would want. I was unable to recruit ANYONE to give me depth there. GLB having caused me that problem has now offered me a temporary reprieve to fix that. I think it is only fair, If they hadn't made the change, my players would have enough stamina so as to not to need the additional players. GLB took and they gave back!
But , as your wisdom is something I greatly respect, I will allow the possibility (no matter how remote) that my wife is again correct in my stupidity and that you are correct. ...
NO, my conceit will not allow me to keep that thought for long!
