I believe that if this get's implemented, which it seems like it will, this will remove a major aspect of what I like about this game and quite possibly force me into early retirement.
IMHO this will remove quite a bit of the challenge of building high quality players and with that taking away any enjoyment that I have left for this game .

Agreed that the current SAs pretty much cover it. My suggestion was to take the current list of SAs and open up (a little bit) which SAs a particular position/archtype could use. You're doing that to a degree.

Yes, we did think about making SA's swappable but in the end decided against it (for several reasons) and went with the bonus SA to give players a little creativity but not too much.

Like I said, if it's a balance issue (and the Combo HB was), I'll definitely look at it.

Will the new structure for SA's be progression building as before? Just wondering where the new slots for the custom and bonus SA's will be. Will it be a 7 progression build is what I'm asking I guess. Thanks again..

I know this isn't Q&A session, but...How will the added player types affect depth charts?

If there are 4 viable position archetypes, then I would think that 4 custom slots would be needed. I'm thinking especially along the lines of FB or HB. I suppose the lack of depth chart slots would force you to choose an overall philosophy for your team (which is probably the point), but at least at the OG spot there should be a way to differentiate a pulling guard (in this case pass-blocking) and a not-pulling guard (run blocking).

Were there any thoughts given to the weight-based VAs, as it applies to balance? (DvG, for example)

Third tree - the custom SA will be the first one in the third tree and the bonus one will be the 2nd one in the tree.

We actually just started a thread on the test server to start looking at VA's and how we might want to revise/add to work with this. Will probably be something we take suggestions on.

Employs too much of a cookie cutter build. No longer can you decide which way you want to take a player, you pick him upon creation, and are "guided" through the process by the bonuses and penalties. New guys may enjoy it, but guys who've been here for a while(myself in particular) are getting tired of these super-drastic changes. The huge changes to building players happens every season it seems like, and it's killing the fun factor for me. We can't keep up with you Bort. You really want us to start over with any guys we created less than 120 days ago? Seems a little ridiculous to me.

Was it really necessary to break this game down so far that every player of every "archetype" is exactly the same player, with maybe a slight change depending on which slow-build method an agent employs? I'm all against this change, and will probably ride out the lifespan of my current "younger" players, and be done with this site, honestly.

Quite the contrary, I think it makes it MORE challenging to build that "perfect player" and the Cookie Cutters will be a LOT less.

easier to build the "perfect player" for what your vision is for that dot. We started specializing the builds a long time ago.

And guys, feel free to respond, but it will fall on deaf ears. Posted just to state my $.02, not really to debate.

First of all you will have the option to pick an Archetype so you are not forced to retire created dots already and secondly, This wont create Cookie Cutter "groups" You still have 10 seasons worth of training that will change what each member of these "groups" will be in let alone the different SA's you may choose.
