It got delayed to Feb 16.Originally posted by Catch22
Having to postpone this until the 16th. Just had too much going on the past couple days to get the questions to the Admins in time. We have all questions now, so if you send in a question for this Q & A, it will not be answered - but by all means come ask your question at the Q & A Discussion.

The discussion will be at 4 pm Pacific Time and will be limited to NON sim questions (but yes, you can ask about archetypes and AEQ changes).

Flex winners are as follows:

Triple_A - 1000 flex
LionsLover - 1000 flex
no14mike - 1000 flex
jrsmith099 - 1000 flex
timthorn - 1000 flex

1. Many teams are using 2nd, 3rd teams (etc) purely to raise and transfer cash to their main teams - Are there any plans to have better regulation over these "farm" teams?

We are currently working on figuring out a method to change the way cash is transferred to and spent by players to try and close the loopholes that are exploited all the time. The main jist of the concept we are working with is making equipment somewhat team owned, so that it cannot be so easily transferred to other teams via equipment. There are some problems to work out with the idea, but I agree it is a problem that must be solved. - Bort

2. Max Zorin has said that he would like to change the regional trophies, is there any timeline for this or just on the backburner for now?

No timeline on the new regional trophies as of this moment. They will happen, but at the moment they have been put on the backburner due to higher design priorities.

3. Would it be possible to have an automatic retraction mechanism come into play for contracts? For example, my team needs 2 LB's and we send out offers for 4. Once we get 2 LB'ers, it would automatically retract the contracts for the remaining four.

Yes, this is on my list of things to get done. - Bort

4. What, if anything, is being planned as far as giving players/teams more options to spend money on and how soon can we expect something like this to be implemented?

Yes, we are definitely working on some ideas in regards to new things for both players and teams to spend money on. We realize that at the moment, money is pretty one dimensional. We would like to make the GLB economy more diverse and interesting. I can't say for sure exactly when this will be happening, but it is very much in the works.

5. Do support questions ever go to Bort, if so what type?

Admins are capable of handling most support requests, if an issue needs to be elevated to DD or Bort it is, but they will usually respond through an Admin or if necessary through a forum thread/announcement if it is a serious issue.

6. If I go 0-16 in copper, will I stay there or go up to silver?

You should stay in the copper league.

7. What are some of the "smaller epic suggestions" Bort is trying to get done this offseason?

Ability to buy a second team, the contract related option mentioned above, flex point friendly bank, show play called on replay page for coordinator, and some other things. I have some other admin related tools and an update to our forum system to work with some new rules Pallow has been working on as well. - Bort

8. How does the actual Support process work? Is there a big inbox that any number of Admins can look at? Is there one Admin who assigns support tickets to a particular Admin? Do you have someone imploring everyone to always be closing support tickets?

I don't think that we need to give away all of our work details but we do share responsibility for answering support tickets and once a ticket has been assigned to an Admin it is closed out of Support.

9. My question is, are there ever going to be any plans to design a better WR depth chart OR include the option to choose the WR 1-5 slots in the AI like you can with the TE, FB, and HB? There are certain plays where one WR needs to be in WR1 but another play he would perform better in WR2 or WR3, this would be a huge help for OCs in the game.

Most likely not. You can now choose custom progressions which should allow you to target receivers on routes you want them to run. The custom slots were never meant to allow the ability for teams to have mass substitutions but we tried to add them at positions that made sense.

10. Will any suggested game changes like Lvl 4 league be posted earlier in the season? Last minute posts of changes is not always the best way forward.

This is one of the things we are working on improving. We just announced two major changes with the player archetypes and AEQ stacking and announced these well ahead of implementation so players had the opportunity to prepare.

11. Is there any thought being given to a speedier way for greasemonkey scripts to be implemented? So many of them are used by so many players...hardcoding more of the popular ones would really improve the useability of the site.

I usually end up adding things here and there if I like the functionality as it would relate to all users. If it is something that is purely preference based, or something that is only useful to a small set of hardcore-type users, I tend to leave those to those who would want to use them. - Bort

12. How long have all of these Admins been involved with support and how do they view public opinion of the game from their experiences in support.

Some of us have been with Support almost since the game was created, others for over a year and some not quite as long. Most of our time is spent helping Agents with difficulties they are having within the game from AI Set-up to Player training, the whole gambit. Overall it is a generally positive outlook, and we always enjoy the messages from Agents that just write-in to say they are enjoying the game.

Based on my experiences in support, I would say the majority of people who write in to support have a very high opinion of the game. They have honest questions/reasonable requests and legitimate concerns about the game.

13. On a typical day, how many support tickets get submitted to the support dept?

Depends on the time of season - during the regular season somewhere around 100 a day, the offseason though maybe 300 or more? Not quite sure about the numbers.

During the regular season, roughly 100 a day, depending on how close it is to the start or the end of the offseason. During the offseason, hundreds.

14. Firstly, what are your thoughts about the overall game experience? Secondly, what do you think about the general responses of the community and the forums?

My thoughts about the overall game experience are "it's fun" and "I can see why it's so popular!" General responses of the community and the forums: Mostly reasonable. The others = no comment!

Having been a former owner/coordinator, I expected that there would be a lot of negativity... mainly because that is the common perception one gets when reading the forums. I've been pleasantly surprised that for the most part people really enjoy playing GLB and like what the game has to offer them. If there is one thing I've learned in my month on the job it's that the 500 people that always post on the forums does not necessarily equal a complete and accurate representation of what people are thinking. - Catch22

15. I think I recall a while back Bort mentioned something about a new kind of flex points earned when boosting. Something like boost flex or some catchy name like that. I do not remember all the details. Anyways, my question is simply where are we on this idea?

There are some plans to implement a frequent flex buyer program but the details of how that is going to work is not completely fleshed out yet.

16. Is there a definitive list of some forum-bannable offenses and their lengths of punishment and, if so, where can it found?

Stay tuned for updated forum rules, for now you can reference forum rules http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_rules.pl

Talking out of turn? That's a paddling. Looking out the window? That's a paddling. Staring at my sandals? That's a paddling. Paddling the school canoe? You better believe that's a paddling.

17. What is your usual time commitment to this game on a weekly basis? I assume you have other jobs you are also committed to.

40 hours - 7 days a week

We all work full time on GLB. While we certainly have lives, hobbies and interests outside of the game, GLB is our only job. We do not have other jobs outside of the game. The weekly commitment is around 40 hours. During the offseason, most of us put in around 70+ a week.

18. Does GLB have any plans to advertise on TV, Radio, Newspapers, and anything in the near future?

Yes! Slowly but surely we are placing a few ads out there...

We do not have any plans to advertise on TV, radio or newspaper any time soon. However, we are slowly launching a smaller online ad campaign, which involves ads placed on targeted websites and blogs.

19. Catch22, how many pm's do you get per day?

On a slow day, 20. On a normal day, 50. On a day I announce a change like archetypes, 150... most of them suggestions or complaints. Good times!

20. What sort of restaurant would I need to take Thorn to if I was attempting to "wow" him?

He loves Olive Garden

This is a trick question. The Philly Cheese Steak cart in Pioneer Courthouse Square is not a "restaurant".

Anywhere that serves beer, lots of beer.

Fuddruckers - from Thorn himself

I would echo Fuddruckers - Bort

21. If Bort and DD were to square off in a light saber fight, who would win?

Both would be schooled by "Star Wars Kid"

DD, Stabbity-Stab-Stab

DD, he has the reach advantage

14 as of last season, but I think there are plans to only have a certain portion of the stadium open if you drop down. i don't know about the cash situation.
