Which one or why?

If you don't mind the cost, HB is the best position.

1) The SAs. Get 2 AE with Return Specialist and you're golden. (In addition to the available elusive SAs)
2) The same attributes that make a great returner also can be very good as a backup HB or Scat Back. (Training catching is enough, don't really need to spend SP on it, at least at this point in time)



CBs cost less, though.

I plan on buying the 1000 package each season... Maybe depends if my work schedule lets me play this long enough.

1000 don't go very far. If that's your budget, go with a CB, and make yourself an offensive lineman as well.

I'm only making one player... With work i won't be on this game very much.

tbh, you dont neeed to be on this game that often to be successful. you need to check in maybe for 5 minutes a day to train and to check forums. its really not that much to ask for

CB is a much better option for return man. I've used both. CB is cheaper to boost, and you don't have to "search" for the "return specialist" SA

HB's and CB's use the same stats for KR duties... spd/agility/vision and toss in a little carrying and you're set.

sping + HF + all that junk is much more valuable then return specialist imo.

Combo backs at KR/PR are epic. And they make excellent backups without having to deviate from a position-specific build. In other words, you can't have a CB returning without him pumping Carrying, an attribute that he doesn't need for defense. Or if he pumps Jumping or Tackling, he'll be ok on defense but lacking on returns.

You can get away with having a backup HB playing returner and expect him to do really well. You can't get away with having a backup CB playing returner unless you want him to be lacking on defense or lacking on returns.

And even if you dedicate your CB to JUST returning, a combo back with 2 pieces of return specialist is always going to beat a CB.

imo elusive SAs are critical for a very good high level returner...spin/juke...give me a HB or WR over CB...

I'd like to see an example of HB/WR SAs working much on KRs/PRs. I hardly ever see them fire on special teams. I see spin a fair bit, but fakes seem few and far between. Anyone have some replays?

4 dots end up shrinking, the first 2 are the fakes, the second 2 are diving tackles

the fakes can happen, not too often, but his build still has room for improvement as he's still under 68 in vision/carrying and quick feet is only at 9

96 broken tackles last season all on special teams returns...with the majority being from spins:

Probably 50% of his returns feature a spin...does not even count all of the jukes...

Pretty much with the current return logic you need to break tackles to make long returns...especially this season since bort made the change that returners mostly run straight down the field.

With the new arch types...I would definitely choose a HB/WR...now that you can add Return Specialist as your bonus SA...only reason to choose a CB is they are cheaper.

Halfbacks they can run people over.
