This is the reason why all punters should have a small bias towards hang time.

Even in the NFL, a net punt average of 38 yards is great. There are a lot of punters that have lasted a long time kicking 40 yard punts with 5 seconds of hang time to get lots of fair catches....no need to hit long booming 60 yard punts...then you just out kick your coverage, and allow the opposing team an opportunity to get a big play.

My thoughts exactly (I see too many cheap PR's for TD's), you get an extra down to go for it, and an extra roster spot freed up by not having a punter.

lol, week one and level 1 Centers was a loooooooong time ago.

The Hippies will have a true punter next season. The field position advantage in close games against the other elite teams is far too good to pass up. By all means, turn it over on downs though.
