Might could be that they really don't care about being in Gold?
Let's be honest. There are some team owners who are really, REALLY into GLB Pee Wee. They mastered it quickly, spend a lot of time learning the tricks and strategies it takes to win, and they got bored with the competition (or lack of) in their normal leagues. So they went out and scrimmaged similiar like minded teams/owners to see who was the King of Pee Wee.
Other owners and teams just use this sim for entertainment. If they win, great. If they lose, oh well. They don't take it all that seriously.
Bort put this in place without asking owners/teams what they wanted. Basing a major facelift based on a thread in which 25 past or current owners out of the overall 800 teams in Pee Wee (of which, what? 650, 600 were human owners?) voiced an opinion (and that's because apparently most owners stick to their team forums when they are online) rather than making a more official announcement (and owner's poll) was a rather hasty decision, IMO.
The first group got what they wanted, a league for the Elite of Pee Wee. Problem is, not all the teams in Gold even cared about being part of the Elite, they just wanted to try and win their own normal leagure for once.
The other part, the majority, got ignored and left out of the decision making.
There's room for both types in Pee Wee, even if it means making another restructure into a Majors(for the hardcore first group) and a Minors (for the rest).

Just my thoughts.........

The other half will be back where they wanted to be after this season, those who were left out will get their shot to get in next season. It will correct itself over time.

I think the idea of a Gold league is great.
I've been playing in the Peewees since it came out in Season 7(?) and have owned my team for what will be my 3rd season coming up. I enjoy the game, but have no talent for OC or DC myself. Both of the previous seasons I've been fortunate enough to have people interested in setting some things up for me even though I never recruited a full roster of players.

This team is also part of a larger network of teams with some friends and we use it to start off new players to get them max play time and cash rather than sending them thru the D-Leagues, or as backups on 13 cap teams.

Like the team note says, We are a farm team, mostly CPU players, little or no competition. But since we were in a league playing against all CPU teams with the exception of the final championship game, it's fairly logical to assume that we'd be put into Gold based on the method in which Darkus' suggestion teams should be determined.

Two days ago I sent an email to support asking if it were possible to be swapped into a lower bracket, and to have one of the more deserving 16-0 teams in Silver replace my team. I have yet to hear back from them.

In the mean time I'm going to continue filling my roster with players as best I can, and my Head Coach will do what he can to set up some O and D that will hopefully put some points on the board and give a few of you some competition.

So you are Pee Wee for fun, right?
I agree with the idea of a Gold League.
Everyone has their own idea of who should be in Gold, though.
That's where the Minors and Majors idea fits in.
Major would be for guys like LordEvil, guzzdude, and others who went out of their way to scrimmage other teams to see who was best. It would be made up of mainly the Silver and Gold teams who have been very successful in their regular season games (anyone who's gone 55-0 or 31-1 over two seasons is successful, league title or not).
Minors would be for those who are or were content to play their league games and be done with it. This would encompass pretty much the rest of the teams, those who haven't been very successful due to lack of interest or understanding or just because they don't take GLB all that seriously.
I think this first season is gonna be a joke, honestly.
Given that, what, 5, 6 teams either have under 40 players or have said they have no intention of filling out a roster........that ought to tell Bort something.
It's not too late for him to step up and do the right thing and do an owner poll, and give those who are just in it for the fun of owning a team a chance to step away from the crazies who eat, sleep, and breathe Pee Wee and compete with like minded owners.

In fairness they always said the first season was going to have a few problems (i.e. a few teams that didn't want to be there or shouldn't be there).... but does that mean you rob everyone who wanted it (those who voiced their support publicly and those who didn't [a lot more than were active in calling for it], and the future owners that will come in down the road, by not making the league at all??

Yes it could have been done better, but this is how it was done, this is who got in, and in one season it will correct itself.

Now those teams that are playing just for fun can still have fun here (oh wait they still want to win??? ....then their not playing for fun their playing to win, they want an easier league so they have a shot at the title, thats not playing for fun, that's playing to win!!!!).

Just because Skeeno isn't as crazy as all of us with putting long hours into our teams, he makes fantastic players.

If i'm not mistaken, everything we do on GLB is for fun. Good competition is fun, the previous system provided very little competition even for mediocre teams. Any effort at all basically rendered 80% of the regular season meaningless with game after game of 100000-0 scores. When you drop down to silver next season, you'll be back in no competition land, silver just isn't that tough, less cpus, but a lot of slow-builders and short rosters.

some people define "fun" very differently.

killing cats is fun to some people.

while to others, merely juggling them can be fun.

and to others.. the mere act of juggling a cat is atrocious!

edit: I am in no way condoning doing anything to cats. I leave them the fuck alone.
