It must be an ego thing to want to stay in the Pro league when your team has the talent of a AA or AAA team. Winning to move up doesn't mean as much right now when there are some teams that are in the wrong division. Once it balances out it will mean something, but right now there are teams in the Pro league that wouldn't be making the playoffs even if they were in AA. They should be moved. If they are worthy of being Pro League then they can earn their way back up. Seems crazy to think anyone is entitled to be here just because that's where the team was initially slotted. It'd be nice if we could get some ownership consensus on realignment.

3 wins or less should get bumped to AA.
4 wins should be dropped to AAA.

Does anyone really believe we wouldn't be a better league adding these teams:
Krakatoan Red Warriors 16-0-0 W21
Seattle Seabirds 16-0-0 W16
Utopia Cobras 15-1-0 W6
Ho Chi Mean Hot Mamas 15-1-0 W8
Manila Warlords 14-2-0 W4
Cagayan Rattlers 13-3-0 W7
Singapore Marauders 13-3-0 W10

and dropping these teams down:
Metro Heroes 3-12-0 W1
Holbrook Roadrunners 3-12-0 L7
Jeanland Jeaniacs 2-13-0 L13
Bangkok Gamecocks 1-14-0 L11
oQuarterback Press 1-14-0 W1
Shanghai Shaolin Monks 1-14-0 L12
Portland Dirty Penguins 0-15-0 L21

Aren't four teams being bumped down anyways?

Those of us that want to move up are wanting to do it for the sake of league balance, not solely because we want to be a Pro team. I don't care whether it says Pro or AAA beside my team name.

I would think owners that can't compete at the Pro level might be interested. It's not 13-2 teams we're asking about moving down, as that would negate the point.

Not this year, I don't think. SEA doesn't have the pyramid structure of the other leagues this season, so I think it's still going to be the 2 up, 2 down of last year. Once the pyramid gets filled out this off-season, then it'll be four up, four down, I believe.

These are just my two cent... Here goes.

I get the point that TB is making. The fact that certain teams, not to offense any teams, do not have the talent to hang in the pro league.

Yes, some are expansion teams recently purchased in the pro league and should be dropped down to AA or at the highest AAA.

I think the last 8 teams in each division should be relegated from the pro teams. I mean this is the Pro League. Survival of the Fittest. Weed out the Weak. However you want to call it. You get my drift.

Pro League:

- Rank 9-12 move to League AAA
* These teams will match better in the AAA.
* They will have a better chance making it to the Playoffs for once.

- Rank 13-16 move to League AA
* These teams gets shut out or blowned out in every game. Nuff said.

AAA & AA League:

* Top 4 teams in each division gets promoted to the Pro League.

Sounds like a quality idea to me, Elemental. Quick glance over the top four teams in AA indicates that they'd at least be able to compete at top of the AAA, if not Pro, level.

Guys remember- it's season two. They haven't even added our pyramid leagues yet. Balance will come, it's just going to take a few seasons to shake out naturally.

I think the biggest problem right now was the disparity because of the added expansion teams last season. Otherwise, Hagetaka, I think you'd be right. Those expansion teams mean it will take even longer.

Though, in the long run, it will balance out, yes.

I think your idea is a little harsh there Elemental...8 teams per conference being demoted is a bit extreme I think. No way you should have teams demoted 2 levels in one season...too big a penalty there.

Probably the biggest reason people will want to stay in the Pro League is simply the ability to recruit is so much higher being a Pro League team than a lesser team, especially in a smaller "region" like SE Asia. I just don't think you'll have too many people to bite on that.

Like Hagetaka said...just be patient, the top teams will get up to the Pro Leagues eventually and if you're THAT good of an AAA team to be able to move up to Pro, then quite simply win your conference and it wont be an issue.

I know it's a little harsh, but it's an alternative for the Pro League to be a little more competitive.

I think you have to find a balance between making the Pro Leagues competitive and being fair to the owners in these leagues. Going from 1-2 dropping to 8 dropping is pretty extreme I think.

I think that's balance in my own sense
