Did the owner just change the name or is the team owned by someone new? They are now the Kirobati Blitz or something. Anybody know?

They got a new owner 5 or 6 games back, if I recall. They probably decided to change the name and erase all memories of the Devil Dogs. Can't say I blame them.

Edit: Found the link posted by the new owner.

My newly formed GBR Sharks will have the enviable task of running the score up on them this week...

Actually, I think the Blitz might just win.

Speaking of running up the score, match of the century right here:

They saw the Gods on the schedule and everyone ran away terrified

On a serious note, I think the owner is dropping the team.

Wow. Bermuda was a decent team. Certainly better than the Tornadoes & Devil Dogs of the conference. That stinks.

So what happened to that team?

Did everyone want a release?

Were they butchered, and sold?

Did everybody contract expire on the same day?

What?

Gutting at its finest... A shame...

The team wasn't gutted maliciously, if that's the implication. The owner was set to transfer the team to the GM through Admin Intervention, and then Bort popped up and decided to go with the new system. The GM had even gone out and did what he could to fill gaps in the team. When Bort changed their stance on transferring teams, the Owner felt it best to release everyone before the deadline passed and let people go their own way instead of having the team end up with some random stranger calling the shots, even if they ended up being well intentioned enough to bring the team to prosperity.

I thought existing GMs were still going to be given first shot at abandoned teams, even when the waiting list is instituted.
