I'll admit, I didn't like the idea at 1st. But thinking about how much money I spend on WR boosting, makes me want to make CB/WRs all day long, just to save the $3 per player.

In a word, "Yes". You've ably demonstrated that you don't understand what "Ironman Football" was envisioned to be with your lame "no roster limit" "idea" (it shames *real* ideas to even call it that, but I digress). Further, you've requested additional coding (no OOP penalty) that will make the idea significantly more difficult for Bort to agree to do. Every other poster in this thread is ready to jump on board with ALL of the current rules in place, save ONE small change ("Limit Roster Size to 15").

Stop protecting Bort, you make him sound like a child. Bort will do what he wants to do with any suggestion. Simply agreeing with or disagreeing with suggestions within a suggestion is all that is needed. If, and that is a big IF, Bort reads the title of this thread, and likes the idea of the OP, then he will decide from there what he would want. Trying to get me to change my mind on OOP is a waste of your time, because the way I see it, Bort might like it and he might not think it's that hard to do. He may hate every aspect of it. Because eventually, 15 man iron man teams will be all everyone wants to play so their guys can get a shit load of playing time for their money.

The point is, all of it, good and bad, popular and unpopular sections of any suggestion are all up to Bort's discretion. Hard is irrelevant.

If I were you, I would have simply stopped a couple of pages back after foolishly suggesting "No roster limits" in a thread titled "Iron Man League". Talk about stuck-on-stupid!

The idea as discussed is simple:

Create an Iron Man football league by limiting the roster sizes to 15. No other changes to the game's coding are needed.

There has been some discussion that OOP (out of position) penalties should be waived or changed for this league, but a strong argument has been made that the existing OOPs could simply be considered a part of the Iron Man league's strategy.

Some benefits of adding this league would include more player creation (money for GLB), more unique builds resulting from players going both ways (more in line with Bort's original vision of the game), and a different experience and different strategies for current GLB agents, owners and GMs. Smaller roster sizes also would help to create a better sense of community and help with coordination/communication for the entire team. And, a big plus, the player you make and pay for would be on the field a LOT, meaning you get more bang for your buck and don't end up riding the pine.

Did I miss anything?

Looks good to me.

I think this a great idea, but I have a question:
Would players, when creating a new player, create special Ironman players, like on the screen for create a player would gove you the option to create a ironman player instead of a regular player?

But honestly, this idea could very well save GLB.

I would guess no... you make a WR and he's a little crippled as a CB, or make a CB and he's a little crippled as a WR

I haven't argued "no roster limits" for many pages. Look it up. All you are doing right now is trolling me every time I own you in a post, which is every time.

So you disagree with me, I'll get over it. What you can't get over is that, despite the fact I may be in the minority of a couple ideas, is that I make you look ridiculous every time you post. I know the 3rd grade name calling makes you look like a genius.

no need for special players. KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. Things can get added down the road.

Exactly. Besides, once you "break" the traditional player mode to build an ironman, you're probably not going to suddenly decide to attempt to place him in a traditional football league--he wouldn't perform as well.

"Minority"? I guess if you define "minority" to mean "clueless idiot who wandered into a thread he didn't understand", you are indeed a "minority".

What about level caps. Its bound to come up if this idea takes off.

I think the lessons learned from the casual leagues migh be helpful.

And I wouldn't expect a lot of players to hop into an ironman league either. You'd pretty much have to build them for Iron Man or convert a player very early in his build.

Yep! Once a build becomes too specialized, the cost on one side of the ball or the other would be too steep (save for perhaps a throwing QB and perhaps a K or P).

Yeah, would probably be best to start this as a Level 1-cap league with one level, add a second tier for those level 1 players the next season as they mature. A couple more seasons down the road, there aren't going to be guys jumping in with their level 50 regular players trying to dominate the Iron Man league because they simply won't be built the right way.
