She-Man Haters TBH. We played legit and won a championship against an islam team. Goes to show it can be done.

Anyways, congrats on the championship tans. It gets harder each year to win with other ppl taking all your ideas

Agreed there. Greatness is quite often mimicked after proven to be successful. I just wonder how many will be going balanced builds next season though as that was one of the keys to my success.

It will be a bit of time to figure out the next big thing. No doubt the lemmings will try and call it an exploit - that is for certain.

@ bobcatt64 - you with the cookie for being so astute. Mind you, I was saying it sarcastically but still, you were the only one who picked up on it. But still it would indicate that you are of higher intelligence than say LordEvil or the fail mod duo of disaster.

Ehh, I wouldn't call it exploiting, if that's the way to win then I call it... wait for it, wait for it..... "winning."

It's just so unfortunate that this year the cheap play was so boring to watch.
Inside run, inside run, etc, etc, etc.

Pretty gay.

Yeah it was boring but presented at least a bit of a challenge to crush it. Much better than just stomping people like last season.

I wouldn't have minded the challenge had there been a counter for it at least. If the line shifting was in last season it would have cut down a lot of the crap that went down. But the trick, as you've said, is just to stack up and hope you stop it a few times, b/c at this level they will start to false start and they self-destruct. I didn't run the slam offense once all year and went undefeated. Shows how weak league 8 was lol.

Anyways, here's to season 9 having a much more fun to watch sim.

Yeah I'm looking forward to season 9 with the RPP. You couldn't stop the I-slam in season 8... only slow it down. To comment on the game posted initially ... avg yards/carry 4.2. I do believe our attempt at stopping it was much more successful... http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=471664 100% i-slam until 4th quarter late. avg yards/carry 3.1. RPP will cut that down dramtically as there will be a penalty to the play after its run a few times

Season 9 will be interesting for sure. My strategy is to lose the first set of games, up to 8 of them so I can still squeak into the playoffs, and do the analysis on all games to see the impacts of the changes.

Counter was exactly that; leverage the penalty composition which by its very nature is directly associated with vision and player morale. I decided mid season to figure out how to deal with it appropriately and noticed that using that aspect of the game was the only way to handle it effectively. Boosting my players was necessary to put the points into vision - the 3 penalties I did receive in that game were from level 11s that I didn't boost, so it did matter.

@ Rev - you may have been more successful but I also would have been able to stop any type of passing game; needed that balance in there just in case.

If anything is to be learned from this season it is that penalties will break you (as they should) and cannot be ignored. A 80 str center isn't doing you much good if he is costing you 5-10 yards a game, which for a run focused offense will cost you at least one, possibly two majors.

Oh that and the dynamic duo of disaster, the fail mods known as Darkus and tj, suck. Even when they use their advantages. Interesting to know how they had their special teams centers keeping the same experience level as regular positions throughout the season with the limited number of plays they got per game. I only noticed this from watching their scrimmage match with the trout - it was quite obvious that their xp didn't correlate with the standard plays per game equations everyone else has applied to them. Them thinking they could sneak a little advantage in like that on special teams and no one not noticing is complete fail.

And no, I am not complaining about it - in fact that is why I am saying that they fail even when using their advantages. Them getting beat by a superior player provides much enjoyment. Of course no one can prove anything since we don't have access to the code, but it is typical of most mmos where privileged "players" such as mods/GMs/Admins get a few "perks".

You can crap on DD all you want but at least he doesn't abuse his power in the game like these pathetic two do.
