I don't think Bort has even thought about the automatic PM since November. Should really be working on this tbqh.

Maybe Bort could toss something in to the automatic PM that is sent to new users, pointing them to the forums?
It does mention them for a brief bit, but it's in English you see. They can't read it.
Right. I meant in a few languages. My bad.

Yes, sorry, should have worked it out. I have a private forum for fixing that PM a bit, I don't know where we could go when it's done, probably PM a member of admin, but we could get it translated once done.

I think Alternative Language Forums is a good idea, and if one language over posts alot in it or eventually as alot of posts are in this forum, it could be sub-forumed into sub-sections, like Spanish, French, etc. or any other languages that there are mininum posts atleast....
+1 to the "ALTERNATIVE LANGUAGE FORUMS" addition....
Note: I wouldn't wanna a main forum for each individual language on the main forum index.........as it would take ages for the forums to load after awhile with this will probably always be expanding as other non-english native speakers keep joing the GLB game.

wolf - Can you edit some of these ideas into your OP as we go?
I'll move to epic once we feel there is nothing else to really add.

I would *guess* Bort would put them in the GLB section, so yeah they would be right in there.
Would they be able to locate that forum easily, though?

I think it would be a better idea, instead of translating the whole PM, to just put in somewhere something like..
Habla espaņol? (Link to a forum page with the translation, with info on who the Mods are and other stuff)
Sprechen sie Deutsch? (link)
Tala svenska? (link)
etc

Would there be any way that in the future leagues are created with teams owned by agents who speak a particular language? (another option added when you buy a team, choose first language and "other language options or leave that empty)

Links would be in the welcome PM

Rather than a generic uber-PM on welcome, why not have people register what languages they speak at account creation and then provide only relevant links?

There already is the welcome PM, I have an example of you would like. It's quite long, so don't want to clutter this suggestion, but I'll PM you it if you want.
It would be simple to add to the PM, but your way would work also.

To me that just reinforces my point. If it's already really long and they don't speak English, it would seem to me to be a waste to give them this huge message they can't read. Better to just give them a link to a forum for their language that has a locked sticky with a welcome message at the top.
