This should be added just for this reason.

not only home field advantage, but away field disadvantage needs to be added. makin clutch catches and throws is pretty hard when 20000 people are screaming at you.

Bingo, it doesn't matter how strong your homefield advantage which is indeed immeasurable in the NFL if you can't gameplan you can't win, this has that unforeseen ugly side effect that make the game worse written all over it

Please let us know how horrible teams upset #1 seeds every year on their home turf......since its 'stupid'.HFA is like the 12th man. Right now GLB is like playing every game on neutral turf. Name a sport that plays every game on neutral territory.

This would work if the same teams stayed in the same leagues every season, meaning they would have home and home every 2 seasons. Championship games would also have to be held at neutral sites to eliminate this advantage. Unfortunately, one of the two doesn't exist right now and the other may never happen.

this is a great idea. if you can figure out a way to make it reasonable. when i played in hs i didnt care where we played. the crowds were small enough (2,000ish) so none of us cared. heck, half the crowd was for us no matter where we went. and our homelocker rooms sucked too. LOL! At least i dont recall anyone caring... it was years ago thou.....

but when i played in college it SUCKED going into 20,000+ people that hated you. especially with all the travel, road food and lame hotels. it kicked ass playing at home!!! no bus trip, no early wake up, no 'i wonder if the driver will find the place in time for me to warm up.' none of that crap....... and your gf was always around.

I was thinking, have the stadium play into this, if you sell out a game, you should get more of a bonus then a team that isn`t able to sell out or doesn`t have a stadium that can fit as many people

"Horrible" teams don't upset #1 teams "every year on their home turf".

This is the one "sport" where builds are assigned a statiscal number that directly impacts the outcome of the game. Some of us would prefer that "random" events (i.e. those not directly related to the quality of the build) be kept to a minimum.

A neutral field is the ONLY kind that ensures build-quality is matching up against build-quality.

We have home and away games, and that effects ticket sales and concessions, why not have a home field advantage, there has to be a reason to have great stadiums other than ticket and concession sales. This idea gives home teams a pump up, and road teams a bit of a decrease.
