IMO.... not to JINX anyone but....

obviously...

QB Chang Wai - Philadelphia Pushovers
Rat Comp Att Pct Yds Y/G TD Int
99.8 292 433 67.4 2,879 319.9 28 8

this is pretty dang impressive considering that the Pushovers TD reception leader has 7. Wai truly reflects the avatar he represents. Way to spread the ball.

Not to piss in your cupcakes but....
What did he get in the 140-0 and 101-0 games?

I'll tell ya.... 20 freaking TD's in 2 games and 1129 yards.
Take those two stats out and in his remaining 7 games he only threw 8 TD's and has 1750 yards.
Hardly MVP worthy...sorry, keep looking - he ain't the league MVP.

Stats mean nothing in this league until we get a full lineup of teams with real owners and full rosters.

stats this year mean nothing in the eastern conference as they have 5 or 6 teams to beat up on a consistant basis

Tend to agree, but I think you can make a case for Ron Dash of Kalamazoo. His numbers might be inflated, but he outplayed Wai in their win over the Pushovers and played well in back-to-back wins over Atlanta (pre-meltdown) and Washington.

Also for consideration:

Paul Crewe: really good numbers in a tougher conference.

Larry Csonka: again, good numbers in a tougher conference. Probably have to consider that he had his worst games against GSA's toughest competition.

this is based on stats alone.

not much research involved, nothing like the TE thread.

I'm sorry, but since when did a discussion on MVP become based on stats alone?

Interesting topic, but shouldn't people be allowed to give their opinion based on whatever reasonable criteria they feel as long as they can back it up.

Your candidate racked up almost half his yards and three 3/4 of his TDs in two cupcake games and got outplayed in hs head-to-head with the other top QB in his conference.

Not an MVP IMO.

good opinion and yes you are entitled to it.

as i am mine.

MVPs generally have the stats to back them, certainly there are exceptions to be made.

btw i dont give out the MVP award either, and this is a midseason report. all the eastern conference teams will play those cupcake games by seasons end.

now someone call that waaaaaaaaahhhhhhmbulance.....

it would only make sense to have a MVP player that didn't play against any of the garbage teams. All the stats are completely screwed. Players are getting 10+ TD's, 4+ int's, 500+ yards, it's just so dumb . So much for being the pro league.

By the end of the season, we'll have played every other great team in the East, which I think will even out with the couple of horrible teams we also face and have it be a fairly even comparison. Right now? Who knows.

I say a the defensive beast "Mean" Joe Greene should get it. 13 Sacks, 24 Hurries, and 10 forced fumbles. MVP doesn't always gotta be offensive player. Just look at those numbers in awe

It's just so hard to formulate stats for the USA Pro as a whole. Half the season for the West had 1 lack luster team. Now it has 2. The East started with 4 lack luster teams and is at 5 now.

I'll admit that the top 4/5 in the East are cream of the crop, where as the West has more overall depth.

So stats will be in favor of most East players, thats obvious. So if stat padding is the soul indicator, then all "Awards" will land in the East. Got to take other factors into consideration though, like Strength of Schedule.

it's a good debate for now until this league gets more parody.

i still think an MVP should be discussed.

Mean Joe Greene is another great suggestion.
