Point differential doesn't seem like a great stat to use. Teams can clearly run up the score more on bad teams by setting a certain game plan. I can understand if all the teams were fairly equal, but when you regularly have so many blowouts, how important is it really?

Well there is 5 different things that do into it. Differential is just 1 of 5. It probably can hurt you the most but it works on the other forums and is very accurate with power rankings.

I'm not really sure point differential is that good of a stat to watch - as we just blew out someone 102-0 and it could help our rankings immensely. If you do, consider putting a cap on it, so that when the computer gives us steamrolling games, it wouldn't screw up the rankings.

While Rawle has done great this season, unless we beat the Gods Saturday we should not be ranked ahead of them .

I like how we only have 1 loss while defending the Pro championship, and we're considered 6th best in the conference (let alone league) by this formula. I'd like to see the math that goes into it. I'm not complaining, just interested in how the results come about. We've now defeated two of the teams ranked ahead of us.

The Rawle Tech matchup next game should be a good one.

That formula obviously doesn't take into head to head or overall record

Las Vegas is 5-5 and Rawle tech beat them 23-17 in week 4.

Redo the power rankings please and leave Vegas out ok.

I also agree the gods are ranked too low. Maybe not 1 but 1a or 2. Thier still the champs and until you can knock out the champ that squad is the one to beat.

Obviously. I was just interested in the formula where a 5-4 team is ranked ahead of an 8-1 team, along with a 7-2 team that beat this 5-4 team. This formula must base heavily on player levels, which no disrespect to Vegas, is the only area they seem to excel at.

I also think that the formula seems skewed a bit towards high levels. But I think Billy's comment was in response to kogrady saying the Gods should be ranked higher because they're the defendng champs.

Should the Giants be ranked #1 when the NFL season starts?

I agree with that. We shouldn't be ranked high based off last year. Actually, we were never even the best team in Zeta during last season. We were just the best postseason team. We played good down the stretch to earn the #4 seed, went on a run in the playoffs and became champs. Vincennes was the real team to beat. We sorta got lucky when Rawle Tech knocked them off in round 1. So I understand the power rankings and things of that nature are based upon how you look on paper. They don't mean much, it's just something to make the season more interesting.

I know tejas didn't create the formula, and I don't want to give him a hard time over this. I appreciate the effort both he and ballbright put forth in making these.

I think we can all agree Tongan is #1 in Zeta right now. They're undefeated, and they earned it. Then I believe we have a mishmash of teams vying for the 2-3-4-5 spots, between Brisbane, The U, Vincennes, and Rawle Tech. Those four could really be listed in any order. I'm just surprised to see an underachieving Vegas team ranked so high.

Ok, enough with downplaying Vegas. I don't want to piss them off too much, since we might get them in the first round and I don't want to get "Titan'D"

I look forward to seeing both of the new rankings.

Well its a power rankings. Not who has the best team.
1.Tongan Crimson Auha
2.Rawle Tech Titans
3.Vincennes Vampires
4.The U Canes
5.Brisbane Gods
6.Las Vegas Outlaws
7.FFLivewire Cans
8.IC Incinerators
9.Bermuda Pirates
10.Nauru Tiger Sharks
11.Big Island Growas
12.Saipan Fighters
13.Outback Astronauts
14.Leverkusen Tornados
15.Great Barrier Reef Sharks
16.Tasmania Devil Dogs

Tongan extended their lead in the power rankings
Also some league rankings raised some teams score and lowered so the strength of win changed some teams up and some down other teams.

Rawle has the biggest rise and barely edged out Vincennes for #3.

Thanks. But we still have the meat of our schedule ahead of us. We still got The U and Brisbane to play. Plus IC that seems to be good as well. And even our game against the Alpha conference is against a team with 1 loss and 3rd in their conference. So it will be a dog fight for us right up to the end.

Looks like the U could jump a ranking or two with the defeat of the Vampires this week. Hopefully that will be the case.
