(1) What happened to goal line? These following 2 features in a revamped goal line D would be essential...
- The ability to select what positions appear in goal line D (i.e. FS and ROLB are currently left out, but might be the strength of your defense).
- The ability to select assignments in goal line D (right now we can't do jack with goal line D)...
(2) More creativity in base formations:
- A lot of NFL teams are playing Defense with only 2 down-lineman. Would be nice if we could have something like that to play with since, especially against very 1-dimensional sets like 5WR.
- As has been mentioned... but stunting the D-Line is also closely tied to this line of thinking....
- The ability to put unlimited numbers of any position in a formation.... especially for teams with several hybrid build players. Being able to play with 3 safeties or 5 LBs in some sets would really allow for teams to make a better use of their depth at certain positions....
(3) More maneuverability with LBs pre-snap
- I tried playing with the quarter package and could not line the LB outside of the DE's... Would like formations where we have the freedom to line up LBs anywhere on the field.... even at CB to double cover a WR.... Or even in the secondary with the safeties...
(4) Ability to jam WRs at the line...
- Would like the option to do this and take advantage of safety help up top... or doubling a WR with 2 CBs... This would help make the game more realistic against these speed WRs that have no strength. Just as power backs received a boost this season... some thing needs to be addressed about WRs with no strength... They should not be able to get off the line as easily as they currently are doing.... especially against a double team on the LOS...
(5) Ability to flare DEs out....
- A lot of speed rushing DE's in the NFL take really wide positions outside the tackles... Would be nice if we could do this (pretty much the same spot the outer LB lines up in strongside and weakside shifts)....
