Fucking Discovery. I didn't care much when they screwed up Dual Survivor, but now they're cutting Grant, Tory, and Kari from Mythbusters? WTF?

That makes no sense to me. They're employed by MI-5, how can a tv show tell a separate business to fire someone?
And this late 'back to our origins' bit suggests to me that the show is gunna end entirely in a season or two :/

To be fair, their team hasn't really added much to the show for the past several seasons.
Jamie and Adam have mostly done the interesting experiments, while the other three basically did "let's blow stuff up" every episode.

And they were probably getting paid a nice per episode amount. I imagine their ratings have dipped after the novelty has waned, 12 or so seasons in.
ETA: 0.4 for cable ratings two Thursdays ago at 9 and 10 PM. Putting it below just about all the reality TV except for occurences at Beat Bobby Flay, House Hunters and Chopped Teens. Surprises (for me) above it were The First 48, TNA Impact Wrestling, and Ridiculousness.
Black Jesus at 11:00 PM was also at the top of the ratings, only beat out by Family Guy at 10:30 PM on Adult Swim and The Big Bang Theory at 9:30 PM and 10:00 PM. Guessing it got a lot of spillover from Family Guy.

9 seasons, but the problem is that they're a fundamental part of the show and I don't see the show surviving without them the same way they couldn't do it without Jaime & Adam. I consider myself a fashionable dresser, so I try and buy nice brands and whatnot when the price is right. As such I use a website called hautelook to buy most of my clothes, bedding, sunglasses, and watches.
However, today when I went to look at the Ray-Ban sunglasses that were on sale I found what might be the geekiest thing I've ever seen on a fashion website:

Cufflinks, ties, money clips, and pocket squares. Nothing geeky about that, right? Well, these just happen to be stuff like, Star Wars Episode IV movie poster cufflinks, Yoda neckties (actually, these aren't graphic ties and are very well done), and Rebel Alliance money clips.

I've never thought that they added anything to the show. They weren't interesting people.
Just run a "I want to be the next MythBuster!" competition, sort of like the "Next Iron Chef". You'd get a huge ratings bump for both that search show and Mythbusters. Get like a quirky guy, a hot guy, and a blue-collar hot girl to win the show and so long as they aren't bland as fuck, you'll see them carry over their success for a couple of seasons.
