Assuming the guard has the other stats taken care of and wants to soft cap one of these stats, which is more important?

Vision. You need to see what to do when you pull and what to do if you're the uncovered OG. Also what to do on pass plays.

Just curious...which other stats are soft capped?
I hate seeing guards with 25ish agility and 19-20 speed

That's funny. I hate guards with strength and blocking at the first soft cap only!

I'm going to cap confidence before vision.
I hate levelling up and seeing my confidence boosted by only 0.5 SP, I'd feel better if it was by 1.0 SP

You hate guards that can make it to their blocks? That's odd.

pretty sure he was saying he hates to see them stop at the first cap. and really, it's all about level, if a level 24 G showed up with 50 str/blk, i'm pretty sure we'd all agree that it's a suspect build.

I'd take vision when it comes to a personal choice, my guards play both sides during the season so I like the flexibility of having them able to spot a tackle coming from deep (LB, CB, SS) and cut them off before they can reach the runner. Confidence should be solid (30+) and i'd raise them evenly at first but i'd be looking to have vision soft capped first assuming every thing else is set.
Possibly if you play LG more you could get away with only solid vision (30+) but with the extra weak side pitches coming in, and the need of the LG to bail out the LOT when you have the ROLB blitzing i'd still consider it a useful addition.

Confidence will only help if you are on a loosing team. It will limit the morale hit you take when you lose a game.

Yeah... I mean those LGs bowled over after 0.5 seconds but able to find a LB to head for after. Or RGs double teaming the LOT or NT only to see the defender walk through immediately, but able to miss a second block at a LB.
Basically all guards build like a FB or powerback. There actually IS a difference between interior lineman and powerbacks i.m.h.o. - no use to make it to a block after missing your primary assignment. But maybe you find a way to take advantage of those missed blocks? I'm always open to any suggestion!

Or if you're losing. If you're down by 3 points and there's 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter, the extra confidence can keep your morale up so that the great QB can put together the game winning drive :-)

Not true at all. If you make a bad play (miss a block, etc), your in-game morale will go down. If your team is losing, your in-game morale is effected as well. It seems to me from reading all the SAs that when you are in a clutch situation that your morale drops as well and confidence will help with all of these.

My O-linemen never had a problem reaching the guy that was withing a foot or two from them, staring them in the face. They never had much speed or agility. The guard and OT I just retired never had much speed or agility, either. They never had any problem reaching the guy that was a foot away from them. The QB was always well protected. The runners had a good amount of yards. They did this by two-capping strength and blocking and only training speed and agility.
Until I see a problem, speed, agility, confidence, and vision will only be trained.
Linemen are easy to build. Cap strength, then 2-cap strength. Then cap blocking. Tackles could go for agility next, but the guards and centers should simply 3-cap strength and blocking. Training would be all that is needed for the other skills for the rest of their carreers. For all three positions, after strength and blocking are 3-capped, you could either 4-cap them or else work on SA's. No need to do SA's until you've 3-capped strength and blocking.

I'm going to say confidence, but it's very close, and both should be relatively high for best performance.
Put it this way.
If I had a choice of 45 confidence and 40 vision... or the other way around, I would take 45 confidence and 40 vision every time.
