Color me sentimental, but I'd thought I'd take a moment and check in on our WEAA#4 Alumni and see how Triple-A ball's been treating them.

Alpha Conference

Frankurt Crusaders

10-6 (5th Place)

The Crusaders started strong, but have struggled of late, losing 5 of their last 7. They did manage to win their last game, but nearly blew a 20-7 halftime lead in the process and needed a 49-yard FG with 31 seconds left to salvage a 29-28 victory over a 9th-place Langenfeld team that was fighting for its playoff life over in Zeta.

Rinkenaes Ringriders

5-11 (12th place)

The goose got loose...for one week, anyway. Rinkenaes began their second campaign in AAA with a 118-0 romp over Glastonbury (jeezus, there's one of these tomato cans in every league.) The Ringriders then lost their next 8 games and 10 of 11 before rallying to win 3 of 4 to end the season and stay safely out of the relegation zone.

Zeta Conference

Cardiff Bluebirds

11-5 (5th place)

The Bluebirds started 8-2, but fell into a mild slump, losing 3 straight to fall to 8-5. They bounced back, however, winning their next 3 and have some much needed momentum heading into the playoffs.

Berlin Stormtroopers

6-10 (11th place)

The Troopers had an up and down year and could never seem to climb above the .500 mark. Despite a 4-game losing streak late in the season, they remained well above the relegation zone and will look to bounce back next season.

Nice. Noted Frankfurt were doing well early on when the sim was inexplicably modified to emphasise what they were already unstoppable at. Interesting that they've slumped since the mid-season modifications came in.

Nice update but to give a little more insight...

Alpha Conference is much weaker than Zeta which showed with the 13-3 inter-conference games. Belin Stormtroopers would have made the playoffs if they were in the Alpha Conference.

Frankurt Crusaders started the season great, but it was against weak opposition but they struggled against tougher opponents in the second half of their schedule. They managed just 1 win against teams in the playoffs which probably means they will go one-and-done in the playoffs, but they have a good squad and if they can keep most of their players in the offseason I see no reason why they can't finish in the top 4 next season with a good shot at promotion to the Pro's.

Rinkenaes Ringriders need to do some serious recruiting in the offseason, they were fortunate to share conference games with 3 gutted teams and an inter-conference game against a weak Zeta team that got relegated. To put it into persepctive Rinkenaes Ringriders beat the teams that finished 14th, 15th & 16th position in Alpha Conference and the 15th placed team in Zeta Conference. I like Rinkenaes Ringriders so I hope they can regroup and be the force that they were in season 1.

Berlin Stormtroopers had a tough start to their schedule (especially the second game!) and were unfortunate to face Manchester Mustangs just before they were gutted. They won most of the games they should have won and lost against all the teams they were predicted to lose against so no surprises really. They have 1 or 2 gaps to plug in the offseason but if they can keep the core of players together they can make a push to the playoffs next season.

This is a warning to all teams about to get promoted, it isn't easy because most teams in AAA#2 were created in season 1 and the majority of gutted teams will drop to the AA leagues leaving just 1 gutted team in Alpha and 1 gutted team in Zeta (who are moving down from the Pro's).

Good luck to everyone in the playoffs (especially Belfast Commando's & Kilkenny Sidhe where I have players!)

Thanks for that. It's a shame about the gutted teams, though.

Still, it's nice to see that the teams for the old neighborhood have managed to hang around, even in tough times.

i will say that i dont know which conference is stronger.....however i will point out that there are no teams in alpha that have a 62 game losing streak and as it turns out there are no teams that didnt at least win one game.
