I'm not the news writer of the playoffs, so I'll give it the elementary version of it. =P

blah blah blah, and they put up a good fight, but their offense was too strong and their defense kept them in the game. I predict the winners for round one will be:

Alpha

Amsterdam Fire
Liverpool Scousers

Judah Lions
Madrid Hares

Zeta

Helsinki Hammers (i really hope that Munich Maulers beats you, I really really really do!! lol)
Ironton Tanks

Chelsea Cardinals
Brighton Bears

short version of a Cali write up... =P

Been focused on game 1 against the Breakers, but now I'm taking a look at the whole playoff picture. This could be a great one.

Zeta Conference
(1)Helsinki Hammers v. (8)Munich Maulers - The Hammers finish their season by taking out Alpha's top dog in week 16. All of Scrogz's modesty doesn't change anyone's opinion that they are the favorites to win the league title this season. The Maulers look outmatched in this one, but don't be surprised if they have some tricks up their sleeve.

(4)Ironton Tanks v. (5)Camelot Kings - Camelot won 12 games and is still the 5th seed, showing how strong the field is in Zeta. This is probably going to end up being a slug-fest. The Tanks will rely on their defense to keep Camelot off the board. The X-factor in this one could be Action Pike, the Kings tight end. He finished the season with over 1,000 yards receiving and 10 TDs, and it will be imperative that the Tanks defense keeps someone on him.

(2)Chelsea Cardinals v. (7)Eindhoven Breakers - The Breakers sat out last season's playoffs, but came on strong this year. The most improved team from a year ago will have to find a way to slow down a Cardinals offense that scored 119 touchdowns on the year.

(3)Brighton Bears v. (6)Rome Bulls - The Bears had a great run this season leaning on the arm of Stanley Marsh and the hands of Phil Eliot. They'll have to be at their best tomorrow when they play the Bulls. Rome has the ability to play with anyone in this field and are extremely dangerous sitting here as the 6th seeded team.

Alpha Conference
(1)Amsterdam Fire v. (8)Ljublana Chamois Scabs - Amsterdam lost a heart-breaker against their Zeta counterpart in the season finale and would love another shot at them in the league finals. Ljublana is the first to try and get in their way. Ljublana struggled down the stretch, but certainly could challenge the Fire if the breaks go their way in this one.

(4)Massillon Grizzlies v. (5)Liverpool Scousers - Two contenders meet up in the 4/5 game. The Grizzlies needed some late game heroics to eek out a 3-point victory against the Scousers in week 2, and the boys from Liverpool are undoubtedly excited about a chance to avenge that loss. Whichever team survives this matchup has to be seen as a major obstacle on the road to the WEA2 crown.

(2)Judah Lions v. (7)Barcelona Bulls - The Bulls limp into the playoffs on a three game skid, and they draw the Lions. Barcelona will have to regroup against a Judah team that has almost forgotten what it's like to lose a game. The Lions' 10-game winning streak is the longest currently in the Alpha conference, and they look like a team on a mission.

(3)Rotterdam Harbourmasters v. (5)Madrid Hares - Madrid is going to try and shake off their week 16 loss to the Breakers and look to repeat their week 3 performance against the Harbourmasters. Rotterdam meanwhile has almost quietly put up a 12 win season after winning their final 4 games, and they thrive on flying under the radar.

You know us too well Cali. The less people talk about us, the better. We took that league projector that said we'd finish 8th personally. I know it was all for fun, but we know what kind of team we have over here and think we are a deserved top 4 seed. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Good luck Madrid, we know this will be a much better game than the last time we met.

good game camalot. Very close game. It came down to the last 5 seconds of the game for our kicker to hit a 51 yard field goal to win the game for us:

0:05 2nd & inches OPP 34 - 51 yd field goal attempted by Paige Turner, made [FG] [Ironton Tanks: 22 | Camelot Kings: 20]

Hell that was one tough game to watch. All the PD's you guys had we couldn't catch, but you caught more than half of our PDs. You guys went for it on 4th down, got it and scored for the game winner... we get ball back and go for it on 4th and it's incomplete. INT on your side of the field. 2 Missed FGs. Holy crap this is the play offs and I swear we played like we had ankle weights on...

Good luck in the rest of the run Grizzlies.

Yea, that was a crazy game. I knew going in that we were very closely matched, and it could go either way. We had a couple of things that were out of norm go against us as well. Our 2nd HB fumbled 2 times and lost both of them in this game. He fumbled 2 times all year on 299 carries.

Sometimes you get the breaks, sometimes you don't, we were fortunate enough to get enough of them to win this time.

I know you guys will be right back here kickin ass next season. We'll see ya then....
